One thought is charging more for players who only
choose one nation. What
do players think of that? It would dissuade players
asking for such
specific nations - making it easier to fill games.
What about pricing each
nation differently? (Not sure if we can do that but
it's an interesting
thought). (Other PBMs have a charge per order so
effectively this would be
similar to that but for popular nations).

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!
So people who have waited quietly to play these
positions now must pay more? Bah.
I'd probably quit the game if there was some arbitrary
price increase for a given position.
I think the easiest thing to do is a single spread
sheet with each account.
When someone gets into a game, you update if they got
their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice.
You then garranttee the following game they sign up
for they will at least one choice better (i.e. if you
got second choice you are promised first, if third
promised second or first). If you got your first
choice the preceeding game, then it resets.
Or if that is too tough simple make it that if you got
your 3rd choice this game, you'll get your first
choice the following game.
Perhaps make it conditional on playing the game till
eliminated, the team wins/loses, or turn 11. most
people who play to 11 tend to finish off the game from
what I have seen.
Most people I know just hate getting their third
choice all the time. It seems to happen to me except
in grudge games pretty often.
As for GWC. I liked them because it increased the
worth of trying to win the game other then just
bragging rights. Perhaps if your a 1st-3rd place
winner, you are promised
For 1 nation choice people, it is their money. IF you
were interested in driving a BMW (corsairs) and
instead got a Yugo (rhudaur), you'd be a bit
frustrated as well. I think it would be poor customer
service to say no to these people. It is a hassle,
but something which keeps them coming back to the
game. I know if I was told I was going to now have to
pay more money for the position my friend just got
lucky and played the game before, I would stop
playing.
See ya,
Ken
