I'm going to GC UK, mostly to play Battletech.
There aren't any information up yet about the 2001 edition, but
has info about last years, including where it's located and such.
Should give you a general idea about it.
Cheers

Subject: Re: Origins or Gencon
This would be my suggestion for your Demo and recruitment efforts. I am
uncertain where Origins is this year, BUT if it is in Ohio, I would recommend
having it there.
The reason being that there is a large cluster of MEPBM players in that
area. By cluster, I mean over a dozen or so, that I know of. I have never
played with anyone in the Milwaukee area. ( Gencon)
I am located in North Carolina. The drive to Gencon is a 16 hour drive or
an expensive flight. For other clusters of gamers it maybe over a 24 hour
drive or an even more expensive flight. I would doubt that many gamers would
make that kind of drive.
IF the game is in Ohio, I know that a many of the players frequent a large
and wonderful hobby/minature gaming store called the Guard Tower. The shops
owner plays as well. I am enlcosing the e-mail address for this store. It is
gtower@aol.com . I hope this has been of some help.

Now *that* would be a good poll question. Maybe a free turn or two for
whoever is nearest?Gavin
RD: Good idea Gavin... that's all the mepbmlist, all the game turns and
individual queries over 7 days (of course the exact number depends on WHICH
7 days we're talking about) but I can't see it being much less than 500,
probably more. 575?

Richard.

If you away for 'less than a week' you must expect your inbox to be
overflowing when you come back.
This is exactly my point: there is now too much traffic on the mepbmlist for
me (and I suspect many other players) to handle comfortably.
I'm beginning to think about unsubscribing. Sure I'll miss some interesting
debates amongst the dross, but at least I'll be able to concentrate on the
games I'm actaully playing.

Richard.

Actually, most of it *wasn't* MEPBM stuff! However, having had it pointed
out that we can change the option to "digest", I may well do so... (Of
course, then you have to burst it, so no real gain there then.)

If you only want to keep one or two of the messages in the digest, you need
to separate them out from the digest. In OE, this is called bursting. OE can
separate the digest into its component messages: one of the rare examples of
Microsnot doing something useful.

Do we Deft players have account numbers with Harlequin yet? For those
of us who need to make a CC payment what do we do? Wait until we
receive our first turn from Harlequin thereby going into negative
balance?
And I assume those of us who have positive balances in our Deft
gaming accounts had that amount transfered to Harlequin along with
everything else?
