Second Point: No player control over what the second special ability is. We
each get one when we start a game. If you have a certificate, you’d get two.
Like I said, you will typically get the ever useful stealth on your starting
army commander, Bonus to challenge rank on your emissary or my personal
favorite: x2 healing rate on a non-spell caster. Blech. I think the bonus
granted is typically diminimus.

it’s the bonus to challenge or the +10E to gothmog that is not worth much
All those times you get the stealthy emmy sucks, but,
once in a while, you do get Ji Indur, Hoarmurath, or
Khamul with 40 stealth! I once had Akhorahil get a
bonus 10 agent rank so I bet it was a suprise to the
freeps when they received nation messages about
Akhorahil stealing gold. I figure they didn't believe
the rumours since the game ended before I could get
him up to assassination ranks.
