I am interested what level of support there is for the PRS system.

Note I am VERY wary of these sort of polls/calls for games. I often get a call for games (say 1wk) and yet don’t get back anything like that amount of players interested and players with multiple email addresses can vote multiple times (with a small sample that’s a big swing)! 
As per usual I am happy to listen to any point raised and brought to my attention.

I think it should be part of every poll posted that a poll is for “entertainment” purposes only. To paraphrase the disclaimer for polls on a web site I frequent: “This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. If you’re using these numbers to do anything important, you’re insane.”
On that note, I’m in the 50%-75% category. 
I agree that even when polls are worded very well and a non-biased question is posed, they are at best a small representation of opinion and factors such as apathy, strong feelings in some sectors or individuals voting several times can distort the results. Other important issues would be the manipulation of the question or interpretation of the results to produce the desired result.
So yes the poll should not be used to justify anything, it is only for fun and to see what a sample of people are thinking who do not have the time or interest to express it on the ‘PRS’ thread.

I stated in the PRS thread that I support it fully, 75-100% category.
As I said in my other email. How and what this rating system is used for are my main concerns. If those concerns are addressed by Clint or whoever is computing the ratings I might be more supportive.

I am not in favour, because it will make 5% of players act like idiots. Currently its only 1% and I prefer it that way…

Rox,
I can see you have permission to post and this probably does not help you, but I would have thought one of the following would be the only reasons for not being able to vote in a poll:
- not a member
- not logged in
- had already voted
I would be interested to know if anyone knows of other reasons and if I can change anything to accommodate you I will certainly try.
I have not closed the poll and would like it to run until the PRS system is launched.

I now managed to post I think it has to do with cookies and how the system tracks me as being logged in, or otherwise

As with any system, the PRS will only work properly if everyone votes every game end, and if everyone has sent Clint their gaming history, WARTS and all.
I bet I am not the only one that rarely fills in the after game voting slip and I’m pretty sure I never sent my prior game history to Clint… although having seen my scores, maybe I should have.

One effect that I see will be to encourage players (that care about such stuff) to not drop games which makes money for Harly.
I would like to see more stuff about nation allegaince % pct and so on. I know I won game 57 as the Silvan Elves under GSI but no record of this exists (even though I have the final pdf).
Hmm maybe I should actually read what all is on the PRS before posting about it

actually I think if players stay in a little longer that may be a good thing…it seems to me a few players are a little quick to give up hope and throw in the towel as it is right now and that puts the players on their side that aren’t ready to quit in a worse position then they already <obviously> are…now for those playing against me ignore this…there really is no hope for you <G>
