just tossing in more trivia, I've recently picked up the "Rast Morthil
Woses" in a 2950 game, every turn I get this report:
"The Rast Morthil Woses examined many of our troops and characters
looking for any that were injured. All appear to be healthy."
No idea how they heal the troops and I havn't been able to get someone
injured to join to see how much they heal. No idea if they provide any
combat bonus but I should <fingers crossed, damn DS assassins> find
out soon!
Clint, are new encounters being added to the database?
cheers,
Stags.

Seriously, I can see the use for Dragons, Balrogs
etc, but what do you use
Hobbits for? I'm curious.
1) a free recon like the 925 order
2) morale bonus (good when you fight).
Since hobbits are free, they are good value for money.

I'd like to say a big thankyou. The level of experience and knowledge out

I've been reading about Dragons on several sites - they sound to
be rather a boon to the DS. A couple of quick questions then;
where would you find them? Mountains seem a fair bet but are
they randomly spread around? Also, how do you actually find them
without turning into overdone BBQ?
Just stick around in the misty mountains and they will find you
Just one other question re orders - I note that you cannot give
more than 1 order of the same type per character per turn; but
there are a number in the back of the rule book that are listed
as 'type - miscellaneous'. Do these count as their type or as
miscellaneous? I'm sure the answer is in the book but I can't
quite find it.
It is skill order that are bound by that rule (except the mage orders where
it is the specifick order eg only one lore spell but a a combat and a lore
os ok, it will cost you some health though)
Hope you don't mind answering newbie questions.
Not at all

My memory is dim on this but I believe that there are two types of Hobbits.
The Hobbiton hobbits just give morale/recon. The Bree hobbits also give a
combat bonus. I picked them up once as the Dwarves but they did not stay
long.

RD: Hobbits give FP armies a recon and/or morale boost each turn. Don't
know if they give a combat bonus as I've never managed to get them into a
fight. As soon as they see the peaks of the Misty mts loom on the
horizon,
they bugger off!

I think you are right but they disapeared when my noldo army crossed the
misties so I never found out about the combat bonus, not that i needed it
but curiosety killed the cat and cloud lord the commander AFTER i had burned
the city/ fort of Carac Angren
