everybody, as in the subject I'd like to
propose you an internatonal Tournament of The Expert
Bofa(BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES) Variant. I think this
is the only variant really
adaptable at a big international tournament:

Surely BOFA It' s not so deep as the Normal games but
It' a very funny and excitng variant above all for
Wargamers
ans lovers of the Tolkien's World...
The big problem of 1650,2950,FA is above all the
TIME.. How much time for playing only two games(2wk
turnaround)? Without speaking about the complexity of
these such kind of game( The Grudges) and the
difficulty of having a team
of 12 persons ready to play for different years with
the some team without seeing really an end.
Personally I' will never be able to play a competitive
grudge without dropping all my other games and with a
competitive opposing team the game could last probably
two years.
Instead in Bofa, 1 Wk turn/around is not a problem
beacuse the less complexity of the game, and the need
of coordinating only of 2-3 players...
And Above all: Each Game ends after only 10 turns.
In this way a team can play without problem 4 games in
a row only in 1 year, it looks incredible!!!
The teams could be make by 2,3 even 4,5,6,7
players(exchanging them when they want) ,certainly
they could play only with one only team in a
year...I.E. Every edition a Player can change of team
but not in the same edition.
The players could enter a team anytime but never they
could change.
The rules are Below
A big Suisse Round(divised in two groups see
below) of 12 or 24 teams with teams of the same rank
stuggling each round(Like the tournaments of chess:
the first VS The
Second,The Third VS The fourth,The Fifth VS the Sixth
etc.etc.) The only restriction should be that one
team will not play two times with the same team in the
qualification round: pratically maybe that happens
the 1st VS 4th , but anyway they will be well balanced
and competitives
4 machtes( forty week + the pauses) in one year could
be played by a team without problems
They should be two matches playing with the FP two
with the DS
The attribution points system will be:
1 point for each opposing nation knocked out
-1 point for each nation of the owning team knocked
out
They will be pass the first 8 teams if we have 24
teams participating; only the best 4 if we have only
12 Teams subscribed
Very simple don't you?
IT wil be make two groups
An half part of the teams will be play
1st game FP,2nd and 3rd Games DS,4th gameFP;
viceversa for another half of the partecipatng teams
the games will be:
1st DS,2nd and 3rd FP,4th DS
there will be two groups: A e B
the first of the group A VS the 1St B;
(if they have already played toghether,it will be 1st
A Vs 2nd B etc.)
the 2nd A Vs The 2nd B,and so on....
in this way you could put in A Italians and Germans,
And Australina and in B UK,USa,Scandinavia
Avoiding at the beginning Direct matches between teams
of the same nation.....
But the final classification should be total i.e.
teorically the first 8 of the group A could enter to
the finals and nobody of Group B 
after 4 match in a year it could be have a
classification able to respect enough well the results
of the 4 mathches played by each team, for breaking
ties it could be considered the total of the points of
the teams that every team has played with.
Attention! this counting will be considered only
for breaking ties respecting the difficulty of the
games a team has played not for making the normal
Classification
For Example these 3 teams at 7th position have the
same points how determinate the rank?
7 Team Blade 3 points
8 Team Dark city 3 points
9 Team Matrix 3 points
Total Money 50000
Blade has played with Oz (-5 pointts )Lone Runner ( 4
points) Deep Blue(2 Points) Dark City(3 point) BLade
has 4 points from his adversaries for breaking
ties.... Don't matter if he was won or not with
them...
Dark city: Thor (-3), Tron(-1) Blade (3) Sun (4)
Total Money: 200000
Well 3 points for Dark city By her opponents
Matrix: Dak(-4),Durin(2),Doreth(6),Teo (0)
TOtal Money : 80000
4 points for matrix
The final ranks will be
Points; P. Opposing T; Money
7) Matrix 3; 4; 80000
8) Blade 3 4; 50000
9) 3 3 200000
If ties for the total points of the opposing teams of
will be counted the total of The total money at the
end of the 4 games
After 1 year I.E. 4 games played the first 8 teams
could be enter in the finals,the play-off:
(Only The first 4 if we have 12 partecipants)
Meanwhile a new tournament start!!!!(everybody can
partecipate, even the teams playing the finals)
ALL teams that have finished the old season with
positive points will start with 1 point, all the
others with 0 points....
Important rule:
All the players of a team(A Team, not the player) that
has dropped the tournament could not play for the
successive edition, I.E. The team could not
partecipate and the player could not change team(the
oters may do it)
Final fases:
1VS8
2VS7
3VS6
4VS5
Only semifinals if we have 12 teams
GOing and return, if ties the team with most M town
hold at the end of the 2 games win, if tie you'll
consider the total of towns, if ties the villages and
so on...., if still Tie the Total fo Money.
The going and the return could be make in the
same time if And ONLY IF both the semifinalist agree
on that, the
same thing for the Big Final :),
I Think that it will be nice to give a prize to the
finalists, For example The 2 Finals For Free.. but in
this case maybe a prize for the subcription of each
team will be asked. Eventually we can Look for an
agreement with Clint
The going and the return could be make in the
same time if both the semifinalist agree on that, the
same thing for the Big Final :),
In final Phase a team will be allowed accept players
of teams eliminated in the qualification round.
Every year(except the first) we could have a champion
team and if A lot of inscription for the next year we
could even start a second division.
This is my proposal
It' s really less complicated that it looks like...
I think that at least 4 italian teams coud be
make......
Probably I will try to form a team of about 5
persons letting changes in each game and allowing the
players of playing when the like more....
