FA 145 Starts -- DS Victory!

There were no guards. Valen was assassinated, the two army cmdrs were kidnapped. 615 comes before 620, so Valen was not there to guard. If you had other agents there, they did not issue guard orders for the cmdrs or for Valen.

A 73 agent against a 72 cmdr was a bit of luck. The two kidnaps were 75+ agents against 40 cmdrs, pretty good odds in favor of the agents. After the game is over, I will tell you why.

For future reference, don’t have your 56A/10S guard carry a weapon into battle. Valen was an effective guard and he stopped a couple attempts, but he showed up on battle reports and gave his name away.

Like Adam says, if you drag the game out without a hope of winning, then it becomes a farce. There is no one ring in FA.

There was a guard at my capital… where another commander got assasinated…

Very well, Honourably and Sensibly… A Draw then ?

Thomas

I don’t care about the PRS, so anything that ends the game works for me. I am perfectly happy with the personal knowledge that we have this game in the bag.

Some of the ranked DS players probably want credit, though. Can we end the game and rank all players (DS, FP and neutrals)?

Would that be acceptable to all?

Feathalion

Well it is a play-test afterall so I doubt it would affect them anyway, but that is acceptable to us…

Thomas

We have sent a letter to clint saying we are happy with a draw… So hopefully the game will end next turn…

Thomas

a draw?
who are you kidding here?
I’m a big boy and willing to say it: the DS won this game.
sock it to my PRS score. or not… if being a playtest means it doesn’t afect PRS. I don’t care. But I am certainly willing to state the obvious. The DS won this game.
life goes on.
A draw? Give me a break!
Dave

I have been in games where it was a bug hunt and asked MEG to end the game. The request was granted. With no ring to dump, this should make it easier. Winners should email MEG and ask.

Shall I assume that from the no end of game stuff that usually happens that the DS are not in favour of a draw ?

Thomas

Thomas –

Your offer of “a draw” is unsportamanlike and has been ill-received by a number of our good teammates. You push our magnanimity too far.

You lost the game – prepare to have that point driven home now.

Adam

I didn’t care if the game was declared ‘a draw’ or not. But my teammates choose not, so there it is.

However, if you keep the game going while getting serviced, that goes way beyond bad sportsmanship. Maybe you were figuring on getting the draw, but now that its clear that isn’t going to happen, you should drop.

Clint, if the few FP players left aren’t issuing orders, is it too much to ask that the game be ended?

Gene Chipman

How come absolutely NONE of you figured out the entire offer a draw was a joke ? I expected a flat rejection at which point I and the other FP would have dropped.

When you accepted I didn’t send in a turn expecting the game to end. No one from your side told me that this wasn’t going to happen and I find that most unsportmanlike on your behalf.

As a result… The two FP remaining have decided to battle on to the very end.

Enjoy

Thomas

This is such BS it is ridiculous. I said:

Does that SOUND like we accepted a draw? I VERY CLEARLY spoke for myself, and NOT the team. I even ASKED my team. Only a moron would take no further response as acceptance.

Thomas, if you continue with your ‘joke’, you will lose all respect of every DS player in 145, plus some of the other readers of this post (including dropped FP players from 145). Maybe you don’t care about that.

Gene Chipman

Could you please post (or PM me) the names of the players that are making this farce continue so I can know for future games? I guess it is their right to continue though it certainly smacks of immaturity in my view. MEG should stop it when it is 6 to 1 odds. I think it is bad for business for MEG to not stop it and reflects unfavorably on their moderation ability. Why have a moderator then?

JMO though

It is possible they will do the honorable thing and drop the game before the next turn. I think they did not submit orders last turn, expecting the game to end (with a draw, I guess). Our team received email offering the draw from MEPBM the day the turn was due. The majority of my teammates declined.

I am going to email MEPBM and ask the game to be ended as well. So it may not matter.

Gene Chipman

It ended this turn, so the remaing FP did not turn it into a bughunt, although they did waste the two turns not issuing orders instead of just dropping.

Gene Chipman

Hey look - my turn 0 prediction was right. DS Victory!

Congrats to all you evildoers who made the win possible, and hats off to our honorable opponents. Special mention to the Stacia, Tuatha, Stone King and Wayfarers for fighting your hearts out. And thanks to SK and the Nadir for joining the DS team.

Thomas: you and the Haradrian Elves also made it an interesting game. Too bad you burned our $200 bucks, month of July, and any goodwill by tying up 12 players for no reason at the end. Hopefully you’ll think it through better next time.

Good Gaming Everyone,

Adam

ps if any FP would like to see my PDF’s just ask.
