However, I do know of one way to get curses in FA,
and perhaps that is what you are referring to.
Namely to have encounters. If a character kills
a wight or werewolf or whatever, the character
gets gold and rank increase; mages also get one
spell -- which can sometimes be a lost list
spell, and sometimes can be curses, even in FA
I was once playing the WW in a 2950 game. Saruman
started with sickness and curses. Later in the game I
had him PC a dragon (it was only the minor 100 rank
ones so I wasn't too worried).
I was disappointed that my reward was the weakness
spell.
