Just how does the 942 Move Turn Map order work? Can you only move the
map one hex?
I have a map which does not show my capital, it's one hex south of
showing that. Can I only move the map northish, so my capital comes
onto it, and then have to move it one hex a turn to get it where it
really should be?

If I remember correctly, you can continue to move the map, but each hex
further from the original starting position becomes harder and harder to
accomplish. But I could be wrong, it's been a couple of years since I
played the FA1K scenario (I was in the second ever FA1K game and the first
grudge based FA1K game).

When you issue the order, you speecify N, S, E, or W. Moving the map north
or south moves it TWO rows (because the command was apparently designed for
a square grid and not a hex grid), while moving it East or West moves it ONE
column over. You CANNOT move the map so that your capital is not on it, and
moving the capital further away from the center makes the order more
difficult, while moving the capital closer to the center makes the order
easier.
Supposedly, if your capital is not on your map, then moving the map in the
direction of your capital will jump the map so that your capital is on the
edge of the map. (i have never seen this tested, though, and it WILL NOT
work for capitals in the farthest hexes east [4402, 4404, 4406, etc...], as
the map is incapable of showing those hexes on anything but a scout area
report.)
