Final word on Dragons

What’s the final word on dragons?

Do they go to the commander with highest modifeid command rating? and if you recruit another, all things being equal will it always go to the same commander (thus you stack dragons uselessly in an army instead of spreding them out…)

Thanks

Dragons always join the commander with the highest combined rank (cmd+emmy+agent+mage) incl. artifacts at the time of the 285 order.
And if he’s still the best the next time you run into a dragon, well that’ll give you two dragons in your army.
A way to get around this is to have a weaker commander in charge of the army, and when you get the dragon he splits the army to a better commander and moves out. The next dragon will then join the other army, because it is lead by a better character.

Not true always. I had a dragon join a lower ranked commander in a recent turn. At the time of 285 he was lower by one point though he was the higher commander after 430. Both were straight commanders.

The dragon still moves in the movement phase, whoever is higher when it is due to move seems to fit. Try it again if you get the chance. Keep two coms within a point of each other in armies and the turn you react to recruit give the lower guy some training and see where the dragon ends up. Not easy to do I know.

The dragon moves at 285. This is apparent when he/she/it affects the loyalty of the pop where the army it joins was at the 500 series orders.

In my game the dragon went to 45C rather than a 46C. After 430 the dragon commander was a 48C while the other was still a 46C.

For whatever it is worth.

They were both pure commanders? No artifacts? They were both still in charge of armies, not subcoms? just asking the obvious.

45C 45Chal @ 285 —> 48C 48Chal @ 430-949 = dragon

46C 46Chal @ 285 —> 46C 46Chal @ 430-949 = squat

What is a sub-commander?

T’is certainly odd.

Yes, but GSI was always putting in random bits to make the game harder to predict. This is probably a one in four hundred event.

For what it might help I’ve never seen or heard of dragon join a new hire army. So they move before 770 or program denies this from happening

The things I’ve noticed…

  1. The army HAS to exist before the Dragon Encounter
  2. The Dragon will SEEM to move to the highest NET (including artifacts) Rank Commander WHEN it moves. Not at the time of the Encounter.

I have seen this scenario happen a few times.

Well that means it has to move after the 430 training and before the 525 InfOther phase. I wonder if one of the unseen numbers is a MovDrags order?

if it helps I know where a dragon sits…anywhere it wants <and total skill is what I always add up when I decide where the dragon wants to sit>
