Forum Downtime

I have a nice, new server to replace the aging hunk of junk that these forums run on, and I’m planning to complete the switch on Monday in the early afternoon (central U.S. time). Most everything is already on the new machine, but the last thing to do is basically shut all the services down on the current server and do one last sync of all the data…then I just have to put the new server up in the old server’s place and hope I didn’t forget anything.

I expect the downtime to last an hour or two as long as everythihng goes well. If things don’t go well…well then there will be much gnashing of teeth and I’ll just play it by ear.

Darrell,
I just want to say thank you for doing a great job keeping the boards up and running. Keep up the great work!

New server is up, and hopefully everything is running again as it should…

I just posted one message and it posted a bunch of times. I also cannot edit it now. Hmm…not sure what the prob is but canyou fix it so I don’t have a dozen of the same post?
It is on FA Game 40…thx

I did the same, it froze up at Submit and I ended up putting 4 of the same up (doing it 4 times).

Got to Edit, find the way to Delete it, once you’ve completed all the steps and it freezes up, go to some other site, come back to pbmforum, and check it out . it’ll be gone.

There is a way to avoid having to say the word “cannot”…there is always a way…

Every time I enter the main forum page, I’m also have Refresh issues - I’m using a cached page when usually it makes you get a new one. Example, after posting the above reply, I left and then came back to the forum (as per my instructions above…) and the page still showed Darrel as the last post, 20 hours ago (8:20am EDT) with this thread a few down.

Yay something is wrong! Just kidding, it sucks, I totally agree with you guys. I think it’s an AJAX problem, and I don’t mean the one from Flash Gordon. I think the problem is causing issues with Post Quick Reply and Edit, but I’m not sure. At any rate, I’m looking into it and hope to have it sorted out soon. Sorry for the trrouble.
