Free 'Mr Corsairs 101' society

There is little worse than someone that tries to shut someone up, rather than addressing their point.

With automagic, we either pay more for the same service we've been getting, or we pay the same, and get less service, and those choices piss me off. Deal with the points, and quit sending twice as many posts about my tone, or choice of wording, as are being sent about how much crap that situation is.

The idea of adding a price increase and then a discount for doing thier job, is SOOOOOOO obviously just an arm twist to get us to do their jobs for them. That sucks!

You've made your point many times over. Why not make it
again? How about again? Go on, have another go at how
pissed off you are...good lad.

Meanwhile, while you're ranting and raving the same point
over and over again, the rest of us are making that choice
that you so clearly defined for us. We're doing something,
and moving on with life. Clint has already back tracked a
bit, in response to many complaints, and will not increase
the prices until MEOW is available. He's said that, and
merely given a timetable (end of April.). Mind you,
prices ARE rising, as with EVERYTHING else in the world, or
do you know a "Nice" company who sells you a car for $1,000?

So, Clint's addressed your points. The rest of us CAN'T
address the points, because we do NOT own the company.
The rest of us have made our choices. Your turn.

Or, rant a bit more. Go on, you have Fans now! Rant
some more. Why not say I'm rude or impertinent because,
as a rational adult who tires of people who simply whine
and complain, I've moved on and beseech you to do the
same.

Or, rant a bit more. Come on now, you must still be
pissed off, give it another go. Don't do anything, don't
get on with your life, certainly don't get over it, DO
spew anonymous bile and simplistic silliness over the
egroup. Come on, you have some more in you, I'm sure.

And that's precisely because you're looking at it the wrong way.

Clint is going to raise the prices no matter what. They will not stay the same. You will have to pay more at some point in the future.

Now, Clint has instituted a way for you to get a discount. He did this by streamlining the way MEPBM works. In other words, instead of bloating his company and prices out of existance, he's doing everything he can to keep prices down.

You seem to want your cake and eat it to: perpetual low prices with no change. That is not going to happen. Clint can make ME better for you, but you need to help.

Mr. Corsairs 101,

I think that you have made your opinion abundantly clear. I think all of us are very aware of how you feel about it. The horse has be beaten, the decision made. Your choice is to deal or not deal. Make it.

Not that it matters, but it looks to me as if the price difference
actually is very close to the cost in labor for doing the job.

If it takes 15 minutes to enter a set of orders in, you can do 4 per
hour. Here in the US minimum wage by law is $5.25/hour, so the cost
for mechanically inputting the orders is $1.30 give or take.

There is additional info that has to be added, folks send in multiple
order sets, and there is the overhead cost in fixing errors. 15
minutes may be low, in fact.

As far as the rest:

<shrug>
Companies make these sorts of decisions all of the time. They'll lose
a few customers, others will switch to automagic, others won't change
or care. If they guessed right they gain money, and if they guesed
wrong they lose money. Capitalism and all that.

cheers,

Marc

I must say, I am getting sick and tired of reading about people
complaining about Automagic and price increases.

One of the things that has been overlook is a reduction of errors due
to mistyping of orders when entered into the system. This is
beneficial as to reduce grief as you entered an Emi order against an
agent for example, or harly mistyped your orders in.

I for one think Automagic and Meow are worthwhile, just for this alone
and they are FREE...

And the bottomline is you choose to play or not !

So stop bleating and get on with your life !

No, but I know a band called the Bottle Rockets who wrote a song about a $1000 car:

"1000 Dollar Car" written by Brian Henneman, c 1994 East Side Digital

A 1000 dollar car it ain't worth nothin'
A 1000 dollar car it ain't worth s**t
Might as well take your thousand dollars
And set fire to it

A 1000 dollar car ain't worth a dime
You'll lose your 1000 dollars every time

Oh why did I ever buy a 1000 dollar car?

A 1000 dollar car's gonna let you down
More than it's ever gonna get you around
Replace your gaskets and paint over your rust
And still end up with something that you'll never trust

A 1000 dollar car's life is through
'Bout 50,000 miles before it got to you

Oh why did I ever buy a 1000 dollar car?

A 1000 car ain't even gonna roll
'Til you throw at least another 1000 in the hole
Sink you money in it and there you are
The owner of a 2000 dollar 1000 dollar car

[bridge]

If you only got 1000 dollars
You ought to just buy a good guitar
Learn how to play and it'll take you farther
Than any old 1000 dollar car

If a 1000 dollar car was truly worth a damn
Then why would anybody ever spend ten grand

Oh why did I ever buy a 1000 dollar car?

(Trivia: Brian still plays the same $90 guitar he learned on about 20 years ago...)

Feedback welcome though. We've only been doing this for 10 years and I have learnt that there are a lot of people out there with a lot of experience that is very useful to network into. If we make a mistake please inform us and we can look at it again.

For example the system of discussing policy changes with players etc I know is a rare entity in business. (Maybe not so much in Service industries but generically). So far the feedback has been both enlightening and useful and we have been able to change some things - hopefully to suit players and us alike. We're hoping that the changes we're implementing are a win-win situation but I have found that I am unable to please 100% of the customers 100% of the time. For those that are happy with the service - excellent, for those that are not thanks for the feedback we're implementing some of your changes.

Hopefully in a year's time players will be able to appreciate the changes. I know change is not always welcome - but in this particular situation I feel it could very well be very useful and the making of the game.

Feedback - as always, especially constructive, calm and reasoned - welcome.

Clint
