Hello everyone!
Updated (1/7/99)
1/7/99 Pubmeet news - we will be holding a pubmeet near to Reading train
station (The Firkin pub opposite the train station) on the Saturday 7th
August - 2pm onwards. Hope to see some of you there.
28/6/99 The latest edition of Bree is now out. Please ask if you have not
yet received it.
28/6/99 Game 42 has ended in a slightly unusual way. A pop centre victory
by the Good nations brought home the bacon this time. Darren Farman had
the highest victory points with 1825 points, Mark Seward second on 1800
points. A not very nice shock to the Evil team I might add!
17/6/99 As of today the No Special Service has been removed. This is
because the service can be abused to stop your position getting knocked out
when you should have been normally. As GSI are unwilling to change this
option and having discussed this with lots of players this seems the
easiest option. Sorry to the handful of players who are affected by this.
7/6/99 I will be sending this to the list each time it gets updated so that
those who on the list get the information fastest. This will mean that new
games, information etc will come to you all first.
7/6/99 We could with some more articles for the News From Bree. Game
diaries, artwork, comments, procs, ideas, discussions, letters you name it
we want it...
18/5 Due to the lack of interest for the list we have set up another one
specifically for MEPBM. Check out our website for more information
(dspace.dial.pipex.com/harlequin.games/). You can also subscribe directly
by going to http://www.onelist.com and following the instructions setting
up an account to the "mepbmlist".
26/5 The European Championships is here. I am looking into it having other
countries outside of the UK as well. The system is 1650, with a League
set-up. Points will be allocated for a win (5), and also for the
difference between the teams players in the end game. So at the end of the
game (52 turns maximum) the number of the nation in the winner's team minus
the number of active nations in the loser's team (generally zero). This
will mean that you are encouraged to stick with the game to help your team.
As this will take a while to play out you are allowed to swop over team
members if need be. One team gets to choose good or evil and then for the
return match then they swop teams. Teams of 12 required with Rhudaur and
Haradwaith evil, Dunlendings and Corsais good. (5 points for a One Ring
win).
31/5 We now have a South American team on the way - but as yet no British
team although feelers have been put out. I am investigating a Spanish team
and then we may go further afield again and turn it into the world cup.
I have positions available in a number of games.
1650 (3wk) [Game 117] We need a player to take over the Cloud Lord and one
for the Sindar Elves. First come...
1650 [Game 19] All available
2950 [Game 23] Available: 1-2, 13, 18, 22, 25
1000 [Game 46] We need two positions [FP] to fill in the game. This three
way battle sees Harlequin provide a team to try our hand at giving everyone
else a good fight.
