Front Sheet Errors

In one of my former Deft games, our Front Sheet's have given false
information 2 turns in a row, showing nations who have played to
have been special serviced. Is this only a former Deft glitch? I had
only heard great things about them up until this point, and from what
I've seen, think they're marvelous....as long as they're accurate.

Game 312 - Dark Servants.

No, it's been happening ever since the Front Sheets were invented. It
usually means that your ally has run out of credit. His turn has been
processed, but is being held by Harlequin until he pays.

If you wanted to be cynical about it (and _I_ could never be) you could
say it was a nice little mechanism to get the players to do Harlequin's
debt gathering - because what happens? Everyone e-mails, or even makes
expensive long distance phone calls to say "Hey what happened, you 'got
SS'". The player phone's Harlequin to enquire, gets told he's out of
credit, and pays. I'm not suggesting that Harlequin invented it for
that purpose, but when it works so well in their favour, the low
priority they have given to correcting it can be understood. (This
isn't my opinion of course, just what a very cynical chap _might)
suggest

It's been a bone of contention for some time, and Clint said he'd do
something about it "when he had time". More recently something was said
about specific plans to redo the cover sheets, so that you'd get more
accurate details of player status "SS" "held"(out of credit) "inactive"
"eliminated".

Wait patiently

Nope it's a right pain in the posterior - confusion, mayhem the usual stuff.
We're updating the FS program partially for this reason.

See above - actually I am working this Saturday on it (yum and there I was
thinking that I might get my 5th day off since Dec 17th. - ah well) It
will take some time as the programmer who is doing it is a tad unreliable to
say the least.

Wait patiently

Always sound advice that one... As usual thanks to Laurence for his
"Ed-like" qualitiies - don't know what I would do without him...

The obvious thought is... change programmer. Any reason you still keep
him/her on under those circumstances?

Um. -I asked for someone else but got no-one interested who was able to do
it.
