greetings.
I've always felt the lack of decent nation hints for the 2950 game is a
reason for the high drop out rate for 2950. Maybe getting bobbin to take
time off from 1650 g34 and making some nation hints will help people survive
in a 2950 setting.
The mouth of sauron or some in-house magazines (both the brits and the USA
version) should provide some hints for nations. If they are collated and put
on a site where people can find them, then maybe people will at least start
on the right direction (no more 'oh goodie, lots of money. Three dual
chactacters and buying HC for me').
Not that I'll play this game, but I assume people pay double ?, ie one for
each nation they take.
I notice you are focusing on nations that are close together, as against
nations that are far apart, or based on SNA. ie playing NG and SG as against
playing SG and rangers. I think this is a good idea as the two nations will
hold hands and help each other. Apart that this comment, I've got nothing
else.
thanks

Hello everyone...
Updated (1/9/00)
29/8 I would like to make game 21 (latest 2950 game) a two nation game.
Reason being that there are a lot of 2950 games recently that regularly end
up with a high proportion of positions run with two nations per player
after a few turns. (Game 25 and 26 are examples of this, as is game 23).
2950 seems to suffer from a high drop out rate and I think this will help
as players who play 2 positions seem to be more committed especially to the
weaker nation.
If so any suggestions as to how to allocate the positions (Neutrals one
nation as per norm though). Eg Woodmen/Noldo, Northmen/Dwarves, Northern
Gondor/Southern Gondor, Sindar Elves/Riders of Rohan, Dundan Rangers/Silvan
Elves.
Witch King/Fire King, Dog Lord/Dragon Lord, Ice King/Dark Lieutenants,
Blind Sorcerer/Long Rider, Cloud Lord/Quiet Avenger
But I am looking for some ideas on nations to "ally" in this form. Players
can still play one nation if they want to though.
I have drop-out positions available in a number of games - don't forget you
get a free turn taking these up..
2950: 15 (early), 17 (mid), 21 (early game)
1000: Tasty Neutral position (early-mid)
1650: Corsairs (aligned)
and the following new games filling up:
Fourth Age or 2950 12 vs 12(13) team available.
2950 [Game 21] Normal 2950 game: Available: ALL x 11
1650 [Game 54] Normal 1650 game: Available: ALL except 3,7,9,10,13,18,20,21
1000 [Game48]: Need a couple of players to join a team. (Maybe)
Cheers Clint
