Setting up in a game:

When I get all 25 nations into the game I will allocate you your choice of
nation from the list of nations that you have sent me - please send multiple
nation choices as this helps to get everyone their 1st or 2nd choices - if
too many choose only 1 nation the system falls apart. All nations are
potentially available until I set up the game.

Descriptions of the type of game follow - please check this when contacting
me with regards playing in that game. When joining with allies please tell
me so that I can help out. You cannot join 1650/2950 games as Neutral with
an aligned or Neutral ally.

Up to 2 nation game: You can play one or two Aligned nations, or one Neutral
nation.
2 nation game: You must play two nations.

Note please ask for variant games we can try to get you opposition for them
if you are interested - mostly Grudge teams though - if I get 10 players for
any single type of game then I will put it up for general availability below
and push it, always check the rules for variant games;

I have drop-outs available - don’t forget you get a free turn for taking
these up…
E [Early] = 0-10 turn, M [Midgame]= 11-20, L [Late game] = 21+ [A= Aligned
if a Neutral, N= not aligned if a Neutral, P = Postal and Email game, G=

Bofa: None
1000: None
2950: None
1650: SouGon (m)

(Please note past turns for all these nations are available) Ask for
specifics on what is available.

Thanks
Clint

RE: Price Increase.

Maybe that is why I win some of my games. I know what some people will do even before it enters their heads to do it. All those guys out there who accused me of being a paranoid conspiracy buff when I said prices are going up—jump on me again.

I don’t find it surprising that prices would be going up. It happens.

I agree. The floating of the US dollar (while aimed at the Asians) has resulted in the British Pound climbing from $1.60 to $1.80.

My comment was not directed at Harley but at the “Amen Choir”.

Like it or not, the US dollar is down significantly vs. most currencies. Since Harlequin is a UK company and must pay wages in British Pounds, US dollar plummeting means their US revenues plummet while their expenses remain the same. The US dollar has lost 15% value since 1/1/03.

We used to be charged $6.80/turn.
Now we will be charged
MEOW/AM: $7.60/turn - a 12% increase
email users: $7.90/turn - a 16% increase
SnailMail users: $8.30/turn - a 22% increase

I like the fact that they’re recognizing the economies of MEOW/AM.

Frankly, despite the fact that I don’t like rate increases, this is NOT the fault of Harley. This is the fault of our glorious and crappy US economy - and you can go blame your politics of choice for that.

Attached please find a 14 month history of our currency devaluation.

Interesting enough, the UK price for users with MEOW/AM went down £0.10

I’ve been paying £4.50 per turn, now it’s gonna be £4.40 since I use AM.

The price of everything goes up all the time. It’s 11:04pm where I am. I can scream in the wind that the sun will rise in the East tomorrow and when my neighbour tells me to shut up, I’m not going to be pounding on his door at 6am yelling “I told you so!”.

first let me apologise for the name change again…I have no idea why my old name mysteriously came back although I must admit I like it better and never really wanted to change it to begin with…I just wanted to say if enough of you brits would vacation in the us currency valuations wouldn’t be a problem so get off your butts and go see the grand canyon…oh…and tell me what it’s like since I haven’t seen it yet lol

<sigh> and now I’m back to this name…think I’ll blow up this puter and start over again…no wait I tried that already

The price increase is not unreasonable (I play out of Florida) in light of the time that’s passed. The price increase isn’t linked to the exchange rate, because if it were, we could make the pitch that when the dollar goes up against the pound, the charges should drop.

High plains drifter… ah, now there’s a name from long, long ago… good to see another old hand. I hope to crush you under my booted heel sometime (if you’re a foe) and join with you in defeating our foes (if you’re an ally).

Bradord Fisher

lol…well lets hope we’re allies…that crushing under the boots thing sounds kinda painful  <someday I’ll have this forum name thing figured out>

steve caskey

Amen, Brad, Amen.

well brad…I just joined a gunboat game and of course my big mouth isn’t much good there and I’m in game 118 and the free want to pretend they aren’t in that game <not that I blame them since we’ve been outnumbered 12 to 6 for almost 20 turns and I think we’re winning> so I’m thinking about joining the next 1650 game that starts filling even though I don’t usually play too many games at once it seems I have a lot of free time on my hands these days…let me know if you are interested and I’ll send in a give me any nation request and you can either boot stomp me or help me boot stomp someone else lol…steve
