Hello Everyone...
3/2 The currency change has been done: North American players are now being
charged in US Dollars ($5.80), Australasian players in Australian dollars
(AU$9.90) per turn, and all others in UK pounds (3.90) per turn.
All balances have been converted to their appropriate currency. For North
American players the balance in s was multiplied by 1.41 (1 = US$1.41 as
of Sunday 3rd Feb). For Australasian players your balance was multiplied by
2.774 (1 = AU$2.774 as of Sunday 3rd Feb). In each case you'll be using
those currencies from now on (we rounded).
Full details of charges below:
New players: S/up R+M 10/ US$16/ Au$ 30
S/up or Rules or Map 5/ US$8/ AU$15
Turn cost: 3.90 / US$5.8 / AU$ 9.90
Low Funds: 1 then 50p/ US$1.50 then 75c / AU$3 then AU$1.50
Phone in or Reprint charge: 2 / US$3 / AU$6
30/1 Two Face to Face events planned: One in the UK one in the US.
UK Game: We're now planning a Cardiff game July26 (Fri) - 28th (Sun) So far
we have 18 (+4 possibles) players for that. For those that that can't make
the Friday it's fine to have turns run by someone else for the Friday.
(Start early Friday afternoon).
US Game: Venue to be arranged. One in Minneapolis (very likely) and one in
Washington DC/Las Vegas OR Chicago Date 14-16th June (Fri-Sun) and 8-10th
June (Sat-Mon) . Same format as below. 67 players interested
In both cases a deposit of Travel + 15 is needed per position. Turns cost
2.90 for the 1st position and 2.50 for the 2nd position per turn. (I
estimate around $100-150 for US players for the w/end plus whatever
expenses you have).
My preferences: I would like to have a GM on each side - playing a simple
nation so that they are able to help out their team-mates and keep an eye on
things. Time limit per turn, maybe with Chess clocks/reminders. Set time
from receiving the first turn. So half an hour after receiving turns you
get your First turn in for your team, then from then on with 20 minutes your
final turn in. The opposing team (who should get their 1st turn 10 minutes
after you) should get their orders in within the same timescale meaning a
turnaround of some 1hr15-30 mins.
I prefer to have no turns sent out before hand - but you would be made aware
of teams and positions so that vague/specific plans can be made before hand.
Same as the World Champ rules with a Fort on 1910 and 4217.
Penatlies: Players that go past this deadline get Named and Shamed. 3rd
offence lost 10 off a non-essential stat on a character. 2nd offence same.
3rd offence 10 off a pertinent stat. Then 20 etc.
Any takers?
