FTF USA

Yes, but I think the important thing is player base. So far we've got
around 15 people in the chicago/easy drive area (nod to the twin cities).
DC or NY puts it out of the budget of a lot of us. I'm sure Chicago does
the same for a lot of you.

Clint:
How about a poll on who would be able to attend the game in which city and
is Seriously intending on it. That might help you narrow down the option of
where to host the game.

Just a thought to stop a fight between cities here in the states...

I'll chip in my two cents for DC as well. Cheap rates to BWI
(for
Americans), good public transport, plenty to see and do.

Aww, And here I was looking forward to heated discussions, and idle threats! I think a poll would be a wonderful thing to seeing where would be best.
But, that does bring up an idea: Perhaps the TEAMS could be East/West, or Chicago+MN versus D.C.+Columbus or something to that effect....Just a thought, bad though it may be...

Checking the Southwest webpage, they have an $85 fare for the weekend of May 30-June 2 (the latest they currently have). Hopefully that won't be a problem in either direction.

Good idea... player participation is just as important as location.

A poll would help. I suggest trying identify multiple locations (or
regions) and indicate the distance willing to travel.

Keep in mind, Clint and co. are coming across the Atlantic - so we
may need to meet them halfway? East Coast locations are somewhat of
a compromise.

Another thing to keep in mind... who is willing to coordinate the
facilities, make arrangements, etc. If we have an overwhelming
number of people willing to set it up in Chicago more power to you.

On the other hand... I believe DC is appealing for Clint and company,
as well as any UK / European players wanting to visit. Chicago is
central to several vocal ;-), eerr local U.S. players. So far a toss
up.

For those folks in the Mid West and Texas (don't for get Las Vegas),
Southwest Airlines has dirt cheap airfare into BWI if you book early
(as low as $79 roundtrip!). Also, in the past I have seen some great
airfare deals from East Coast airports to Chicago and points west.

I am surprised no one mentioned Boston - another great East Coast
city. Also, noticably absent is New York, Philladelphia, Charloette,
or Atlanta.

One thing is for sure, there are several U.S. players interested in
attending / participating. Sounds fun.

.... wondering if it might be a good idea to be able to vote for 2nd or
3rd choice. (i.e. 1) chicago 2) Minneapolis 3) DC)
or whether that is even possible.
