G21; The Dark Sun, Issue 24

THE DARK SUN, Issue 24.

THE NOOSE TIGHTENS.

The War continues to go well for the subjects of SAURON, as on all
fronts
there is success. Little now can be done to halt the tide of death
that
comes the way of the Freeps. Surely now is the time to negotiate
surrender?
Whilst i cannot guarantee mercy for the leaders of the Elven
Conspiracy, things
would go better for the proletariat if an armistice was agreed. If
talks are not begun i can only try to convince a popular uprising by
the proles against their corrupt leaders. People, will you let Elrond
and Galadriel take you to your doom?

Araudagul continues to enjoy his good fortune and the benefits of his
many skills. This
week Moraiza was his prey. Even though the simpleton had enough nous
to reject a PC, he
then decided to try to assassinate the Cloud Lord Warlord, only to be
wounded himself.
The fool. At 4013 the assault on Northmen territory continued with
the death of the
guerrilla leader BAIN I. However Sharkey did not prove so lucky;
despite injuring the
agent VEANTUR he was molested by local militia and thwarted in his
mission. Elsewhere
the Dunadan commander HALBARAD was relieved of his life by JI INDUR.
This week a crucial
battle will take place at Woodstock [2527] where a small WW army has
sprung up to face
a larger Cloud Lord force. It seems a valiant effort by the Freeps,
but much uneeded
blood will be spilt there to no avail. The incursion into South
Gondor will continue
unabated. Colonisation cannot be stopped. And where are the
Gondorians? All run away, hiding
under stones and in caves with bearded she-dwarves?
At 2212 a number of uninvited guests remained for another
turn. You really would think that
they would learn their lesson, wouldn`t you? The Freeps no longer
have the strength to
trouble us in a character war, yet their persistance is both
admirable and lunatic! Much
blood will be shed at the WK capital, and it does not bode well for
the House of Elrond nor the
freeps in general. At 3713 the new Rhun capital many forces have
arrived for a battle which
promises to be a decisive one in the war; Rhun decided to rush back
to it`s back-up capital in
time to meet larger forces of the Blind Sorceror and Khand. The Dark
Servants expect victory here!
Angulion also reports that his Warlord ROGROG has invaded deep into
Dunadan territory, taking
pop.centres at will with a force of Rangers on his tail. A battle
looms...
At 4014, the former Rhun capital has fallen to their cousins
from Khand. Ovatha is pleased
to announce the return of his ancestral realm to it`s rightful
rulers! Whilst he emphasises that
much more work or reclamation [such as 3713] is to be done, there
will be a day of holiday and feasting
throughout his realm to celebrate this great victory. The King of the
Easterlings himself has moved
on to 4013 to reclaim it from the capitalist Northmen!!! In a special
word for the Northmen leader,
whomever that may be with the death of BAIN, Ovatha had a special
thank-you; "I must thank him for the
5,000 le he left behind"!!! How many Khand chariots is that on the
horizon? The Khand Easterlings
are also on the verge of reclaiming 4415 from the Northmen merchants,
as it is expected to fall to
an expeditionary force this week!
Adunaphel reports some minor visitors to her capital, but if
they dare take any actions there,
one expects them to be dealt with easily. She also reports that her
armies are about to launch a
major offensive in Gondor, and that only targets may be a problem
considering the pace of colonisation
already by other armies and friendly emmisaries.
In an unprecedented move we heard from two leaders of Freep
nations bemoaning the course
of the War and the lack of success of their allies. The first
inklings of
demoralisation have begun. Is this the first step to surrender? It
seems that little can be done to
halt the advance of The Dark Lord`s armies, and his agents and
Cursers riddle the former capitals of
Freepdom. For the record the capitals of North Gondor [twice], South
Gondor, Sinda, Woodmen, Rohan & Rhun
have fallen to the legions of the RingLord. This week the same fate
may befall the Northmen`s
capital and the new Rhun capital. In return the Freeps have captured
the capitals of the Dragon Lord,
the Witch King and the Dog Lord, although the latter two have been
retaken. Surely the outcome of the War
of Independence is obvious?
At Edoras [the newly captured DkLts MT] this week there will
be another dramatic face-off between the
forces of the Lord Marshal Gothmog and a "huge army" of the White
Wizard under Nienor. Indeed Saruman`s nation has been
most active in his defence of Freepdom, where others have fallen by
the wayside. The outcome will be interesting!
Gothmog was even cursed last turn! However in retaliation, Dark
Cursers afflicted Pelnimloth with a [hopefully]
fatal dose of the bleeding piles. We say hopefully because another of
our active Curse Squads also cast on
Ascarnil only to see him survive. Quite a riddle, but one which will
be resolved sooner rather than later!
The plucky force of Dunadan Rangers once led by the late Halbarad
[you have to love that Scout Army order, dontcha?]
, and now under the rule of Nimlothiel have moved to Osgiliath, that
ill-fated theatre of blood, to face an army of
the Fire King. They have shown great courage, but for what? The
capture of a village is all we can account for. Oh and a
lucky over-run, where the IK`s hapless Pedron Niall got in the way of
the bigger force. Back at Edoras agents of the Dark Lord
targeted THEODEN and ELFHILD, with the Horseking again being
fortunate to survive where his mage was not so lucky...
At Durthang the cheeky Freep company that turned up there
went away [again] withougt much success. LUGDUSH tried to kill
GORTHOG, but only succeeded in being injured, and Gorthog in turn
assassinated the renegade mage SARUMAN denting the Freep war
effort BigStyle! That really should teach them to turn up at well-
guarded capitals! One can only guess who is left in charge of the
White Wizard`s nation now...Hoarmuruth also reports that LUGRONK
escaped from captivity.
As reported the Fire King has now begun to recruit in a big
way, with his back-ups secured and a host of new characters he
is able to plough many troops into the front line; look out Rohan and
Isengard!
The White Wizard continues to defend South Gondor where his
ineffectual hosts could not! Two armies have sprung up there in an
effort to turn the tide. However Dark Servant armies outnumber their
enemies, and they have superior agent cover also. With the death of
Saruman one wonders what affect there will be on the morale of the
nation? BRAGOLMAITE prepares this week for a battle over the
miraculous
ASCARNIL, with the pointy-ears enjoying superior numbers on the
plains of Rohan. The Corsairs continue to build and rule their new
possessions in Gondor with skill and benevolence. Though their troops
are some way from the Sea they have more than excelled themselves!
MORNADAK of the Long Rider reports that he captured 4015 and
moved to help his Khand allies at the Northmen capital of
Shrel-Kain, where a titanic battle is expected next turn. The
Northmen cannot afford to lose as this would push the front all the
way back
to the eaves of Mirkwood and leave all of Rhovanion for the Dark
Servants. But what chance do they have? Observers predict a victory
for
SAURON whose forces are once more superior in number and in the skill
of their agents. The longtime thorn in His side; the outlaw LINDAL
has at last been brought to justice. Whilst skulking with a host of
co-conspirators at Khazad-Dum the enemy agent was struck down. However
at the same location UVATHA was captured by TARGIL, relieved of his
artifacts, but later escaped. Once more, much action is expected at
2212,
the Witch-King`s capital. We know what Freeps are there, but do they
know who we have hiding in the shadows?
Another week of success for the Dark Servants is expected,
surely the end of the war looms nearer? I bid you a happy Winter
Solstice,
PRAISE SAURON!!!

Wrigol Perrit, Prophet of Sauron.
