RADIO FREE: MIRKWOOD Issue 1.
This is Mirkwood Calling...
I am Murmur, the aptly named First Emmissary of My Lord Thranduil`s
Kingdom of Silvan Elves. I hope to bring you news, gossip and
obituaries from around the Free World of Middle Earth.
THE NORTH AND MIRKWOOD:
Whilst Bree and Imladris muster for the War Of Liberation against the
vile oppressor SAURON and his insubstantial minions the NAZGUL, The
self-styled Witch King, MURAZOR the sorceror [read: failed children`s
party entertainer] has already issued from Mt.Gundabad with his
stinky goblin retinue in-tow, to Framsburg, no doubt to raid it`s
ancient treasures in their pathetic lust. KHAMUL`S lackeys remain in
their caves at Goblin Gate, awaiting the inevitable storm. Mirkwood
remains quiet for now, with no armies moving to or from Dol Guldor.
It will not last! The Long Rider tried to move out from 3017 to
support his Dragon helmed brother at his capital but was intercepted
by a brave legion of wood elves under my kinsman CAMTHALION.
THE WEST:
SARUMAN THE WHITE versus DUNLAND. Opening moves in Saruman the
Pensioner`s fight for survival go by the book: MAUHIR has moved onto
1916, UGLUK`s army onto 1917 only to be met by URDREK`s large army.
At the Fords of Isen DURBUHUK has been met by WIDFARA from the
Hornburg. And at the mighty citadel of Angrenost itself EOMER the
bold is taking on BUGRUG`s large army. It seems like the decrepit
wizard will have a lot on his mind in the near future...if i was him
i`d retire to the west [if they`ll have him] or perhaps a little
dacha by the Sea of Nurn, and forget about making war on the Free
Peoples. Also i`d keep one eye on his shiny baubles in case a certain
slimy emmissary starts to finger them when the great wizards failing
faculties are focussed on other things! Never trust a man named
Wormtongue is my motto! As always 2619 remains a place on the map
where battle will be contested, this time between Rohan and the
Dragon Lord under EOMUND and GRASHUKH respectively.
RHUN:
Is as quiet as a grave. No Dark Servants stir here as yet!
ANDUIN VALE:
It must be a great surprise to my readers that the town of Osgiliath
remains quiet and peaceful, without armies of either side using it as
a barracks on this first fortnight of the phony war! I`m sure we will
see a change here in the coming days!! North Gondor does have a
presence east of the river however, and will continue to build it`s
bridgehead from there one way or another!
KHAND:
The far eastern Free State of Khand has been the scene of much army
movement, with 3 Khand armies arriving at the Long Rider village at
4433, only to leave 4228 open for MORNADAK`s large army to move in!
The Quiet Avenger, ADUNAPHEL the She-Wraith has attacked the Khand
village at 3538. KIONID has moved on the other Long Rider village at
4425 with his army. It promises to be an interesting time out there.
THE SOUTH:
At 2430, an interesting situation occurred; ADRAHIL and DUINHIR of
South Gondor sailed their navies into the Corsairs harbour only to be
surprised by the large navies of ALLURAC and BRAGOLMAITE of Umbar,
Dark Pirate Scum [as we fondly call them]. It is my guess that there
may be a naval battle there soon!
And so, ends our first fortnight of conflict in the War of the Ring.
The opening moves have been made, with quite a few surprises, and, i
predict, more will follow...
