Both the Corsairs and Khand were still neutral by the way. I would also
like to mention despite an agreement being reached with the Free side so
that I would not influence their turn and released their hostages that they
would not do anything to me. I was bitterly disapointed to find my Village
burned to the ground, Ovatha assassinated and over 10,000 gold stolen.
Although to be completely honest I wasn't surprised.

With the ending of 2950 g28 (the ds conceded on t21
after the last neutral turned free), I would like to
thank the following
a) the free side (especially those who were playing
their first middle earth game, and those who helped
them out).
b) the DS side (the rangers were laughing when we
threatened away Mt Gram, but Mordor was tough). For
10,000 timber a pop, you would think the bridge would
have eventually stayed up.
c) Yahoo (they helped up swap turnsheets and emails).
Noldor/South Gondor/Khand were the top three. But we
didn't lose a single free, so that's pretty good.
thanks

p.s. I really think leaving Mt Gram alone was a bad idea.
I guess you shouldn't have told the DS that you were going to ignore
the deal with the us - because they told us what you planned, and that
kinda meant the deal was off.
No real backstabbing here.

Khand was still neutral? Then how did you finish third in the VP
stakes? I am sure that I speak for all my fellow Free players if your
MEPBM sensibilities have been offended in some way then we are
awfully sorry, but how do you expect us to treat a neutral that sits
on their ass for most of the game and then expects us to welcome him
into the fold with open arms just as the game is ending just so he
can claim a high VP position?
Its play like this that gives neutral players a bad name.

I looked at that as well. The last turn says 'top 3
positions'. So we could have see a DS here. Its the
earlier turns that says 'top 3 free nations' that has
mislead us.
Here I was thinking I was the only one who was
confused by the khand.

Is there another character (even an enemy one) with the encounter at that
location now? I know you can react if someone else currently has the
encounter, but I've never tried just reacting when the encounter wasn't
currently active on someone's turn somewhere in the game.
No, my charater is the only one there at the moment. Nobody else has
done any kind of investigation on this hex recently (apart from when I
visited it several turns ago).

If you know the answer, you can just give a 285 with the answer right off.

Now I know that this is a riddle encounter and I know the correct answer

My question is this. Can I simply do a 285 ReacEnc order with the riddle
answer or do I have to do the 290 InvEnc first ?

Unless you are worried about challenges, why not do both? If the React
doesn't work, then the investigate will have you set to react next turn. If
the react does work, then the investigate will say there is nothing to
investigate. This way, you may get it this turn, but you'll definitely get
it next turn. If you just do the react and it doesn't work, then you have
to hang around three turns to get it.

InvEnc first, or the encounter does not become active.
If he knows the riddle why waste an order by hearing it again? It will only
make life dangerous ,there are nasty people, out there, that move agents
according to rumors and having fun killing cjharacters while they are
admiring their new toy. And yes you can answer the riddle without having the
encounter this turn (been there done and that).
