Hi guys…
I was Rhu / DkLts… and then just DkLTs… and then from about t17 DkLTs / WK.
I had a blast resurrecting the WK position which was dying by inches…
Would love to know who was playing the other positions…
Cheers

Hey Mike!
I had the Dog Lord / QA / FK trio but only played the Dog Lord. The QA and FK were played by Robert and Steve respectively and I’ll try to get them to check in.
This was our first GB game and I had a lot of fun…at least until the end when that pesky Noldo/Cardolan/(Eothraim?) player decided to burn Morannon to the ground. Nothing like having an agent company, multiple curse companies, and large armies descending ya. lol
Anyhow, I thought you did a great job with the WK…it was a pleasant surprise to see that nation survive at all in the NW.
If you want to exchange final PDFs after next turn I’d be happy to do so.
Bernie
Hiya… you guys were super effective. I remember around t10 i saw that Doglord was all over N Harad. It was a good surprise… and then when I saw the QA and FK pops coming up in Mirkwood I knew we were winning… really gave me heart 'cos the Arth, Card, Dwa and Woo really came at WK hard t20-t25
Good idea to swap turns.
Cheers
Mike
Yep, it was a good team effort all around despite not being able to coordinate. I’m sure you guys also had a few PCs influenced out from under ya but as long as it was another DS player doing that we only grumbled a bit.
The Corsairs/Dragon Lord/Cloud Lord (I think all one player) did a great job helping to finish off Harad and then proceeded to mop up Gondor. I know we bumped into the IK/LR player numerous times in the NE as we cleared out the NM/Dwarves/Eothraim from there. The biggest fight for me was by far the main Eothraim presence around 3012 on the east side of Mirkwood. Good use of the Mantle combined with the Curse company and an oops or two on my part made it much more painful then expected. Having the FK come to me on turn 3 or so made securing the west entrance into Mordor a lot easier. Once we got Osgiliath we held it for most of the game.

QA checking in…
Whoever was the Corsairs player… THANK YOU!.. After destroying all the unfortified Harad towns on both sides of the river, I basically didn’t do anything with my military after that. The Corsairs player did a great job rolling over Harad.
After that, my purpose in life was financing the dog lord and fire king. And later, taking my 11-13 offensive emmies around trying to take PCs before the IK, DkLt., ect. took them  .
Also hats off to the Eothraim player… We (by we I mean Dog Lord, Fire King, and QA) twice tried to hit your capital area… And with your constant hiding of the artifact, and cursing of commanders, ect. you really made that a real pain.

Noldo/Eothraim and after turn 20 Cardolan checking in.
Sorry we dropped the game, but your side was obviously going to win and although all three of our positions are in pretty darn good shape, I felt it would be better to move onto greener pastures.
Home email is thuiatt@hotmail.com if anyone wants to swap PDF’s. I am real interested to here from anyone that was playing the free side, especially at the end.
The loss of one curse squad did not make us want to quit, we actually wanted to drop prior to that and asked Clint to Poll everyone to see if they still wanted to play. Screwed up movement orders so the curse squad did not move the last turn. However, after our uncover secrets determined that we had at most only the Arthedain, Dwarves and Northern Gondor active, and we were not seeing these allies do anything anyway, we (my brother and I ran the positions together) decided to put more effort into our current games.
Great job, as I thought we were going to win this game about turn 6 with the artifact recovery and great start the Noldo and Eothraim got off to. When we failed to gaurd the ring of wind and had it stolen that was a bit of a setback.
Dog Lord, Sorry we sacked your capital. Tony wanted to quit the turn we were on your capital but I convinced him with Clints poll to keep playing. Plus, it took us five turns to put into place the plans to sack it and we did want to at least do that. Bulrakor did a lot of damage to us. Too bad we did not get all three curses off as we did not have the artifacts properly arranged. Another mistake on our part.
All in all one of the most enjoyable games I have played, up until the last five turns when we felt it was three against eleven.
Curios to know who played all the positions, so I hope most players check in.

Cudos to the Dark Lieutenants for not quitting. I applaud your persistance.
Tim
Robert,
Nice job done by your positions as well. We should have taken out Bulraker, but did not prioritize that.
Who played the Blind Sorceror, Ice King and Long Rider. And did they change hands as well.
tim
Who the heck kidnapped Leofigold.
Hiya Tim
Dwarves were still active to the end. They caused me some heartache when my army rampaging around 3105, 3108 etc was assassinated away.
Arthedain i think lost heart after he sent a big army against 2305 and I blocked him twice at 2405 and killed a bunch of his characters. 1407 would have probably fallen to WK/DkLts emmies this turn.
Woodies / SG were obviously under quite a bit of pressure mainly on the SG position initially, but then when the WK starting hiring alot at 2305 with the DkLTs characters supporting with assass and curses, 2711 and 2508 fell to me and DogLord and FK had armies up there too, taking 2608. The WOodies were a key character battle for the WK / DkLTs and I lost a couple of good guys to them
DkLts sends a big raspberry to the Noldo for taking all of those “liberated” NG towns off me - and for some slightly annoying assassinations at my capital. Glad you didnt pick more on me
Cheers!
Mike
Howdy Gang,
checking in…as my brother Tim posted earlier, he and I were playing the Noldo/Eothraim, and then eventually Cardolan.
It never dawned on either one of us that the Cloud Lord was playing with Corsairs/DragonLord. Yiminy, if we had known that we wouldn’t have wasted those Noldo/Cardolan forces in Gondor. It also explains why we kept losing characters at 2715.
Kind of bummed that Cardolan/Sinda dropped around t20. We had given Sinda e mere vardo on T5 or T6, keeping Tinculin for ourselves to learn curses. Towards the end there, we were desparate, risking the curse squad by putting them in the IK capital for two turns running etc. When we uncovered that the Sinda was out, as well as confirming Harad, NM, SG, Woodmen out as well…there just weren’t enough allies to compete against 11active DS positions.
but alas it was not enough. We had too many targets to go after, and we changed strategies as to who to target too often. We did have a plan to land in Corsair land with the Noldo to start rampaging, but the Dog Lord/FK were picking on the Eothraim and we had to send our agents/cursers back in that direction…lol
Congrats to the DS…y’all earned the win…we enjoyed playing with/against y’all.

GB70 FK checking in.
My first time playing a DS position. FK was quite fun. Free army hiring is a blast! Hire here, hire there, hire, hire, everywhere. Biggest downer turn for FK was losing my nice Garrison at Osgiliath when one commander was assassinated and the other was kidnapped. After that I never seemed to have enough commanders around to put armies where we wanted them.
Well played all.

Hi Mike,
We should have picked on you some more, but we had to minimize the damage the Dog Lord was doing to us.
Anyone know if Northern Gondor was still active at the end?
tim
I’m not sure, when I took over the NG capital with emmies on turn 31, I got 20,000 gold transferred to me from Arth. I think. I wondered if that lost gold (plus the lost city revenue) might have done him in.

N Gondor must have been pretty much toast from quite early on… I picked up lots of his hinterland pops with 1/2 emmy hits around t12-t17… then came a big Noldo army and took many of them back… his loyalties must have been shagged for a long time, and unless he had big emmies who knows…
Btw Rhudaur might have done more damage to the Duns than I had realised at the time: I sent the starting Rhu Cavalry (600HC 600LC) on a rampage that took out 3 Dun villages and 1922. Rhu went bankrupt - noone sent me money and DkLTs was pretty hard up at that stage… but I didnt see anything from Duns all game long… did anyone else?
Cheers
Mike
Duns was eliminated early, we got a report of that around turn 8 or 9 possibly earlier, we grabbed his mages early and they were part of one of our curse squads. We also grabbed his capital and at the end of the game that was our backup major town for the eothraim. Explains why he was eliminated without losing the capital.
By the Way, the Northmen/Dwarves did an excellant job of protecting the Eothraim homeland for the first ten turns. Tony did a great job of protecting our pop centers as well and pretty much predicted the moves. I liked his idea of letting The Dark Lieutenants challenge and kill one of our starting 30 commanders at Thuringwathost (3120) on turn three or four, then having the backup Thuidimer destroy the pop center and force march back to 3612 to meet the long rider starting cav. One of Tony’s finer moments as we did meet the long rider cav.
Held most of the Eothraim starting pop centers until about the last four or five turns, then the Dog Lord set upon us. If only that last curse would have gone off…

Ah well, there’s always mistakes. I’m still smarting over the loss of Dendra Dwar on my first attack into the 3012 area. The DoL/FK/QA hadn’t been getting a lot of pressure for some time and complacency set in. I didn’t do emergency orders and didn’t have enough character support. But fortunately we (Robert, Snarlin and I) made up for that later on. On your end of things, despite not nailing Bulrakur, the attack on Morannon was excellent. I’d have to look back at those turns but I really don’t think there was much I could have done to prevent it. Could maybe have postponed it a turn or two with some better army movements.
Anyhow, please send turns to bernout1@adelphia.net. I’ll send out the turns I have to anyone who I have emails for on Wednesday.
Bernout
I dont think you could have preveneted the loss of Morannon, unless you had a large fire king army move onto it the turn we moved onto it. Two curse squads and our agent squad is pretty hard to counter. We knew you were aligned with the QA, or I should say we guessed it when we saw Malezaar picking up Dendra artifacts. We should have grabbed them. I did like the move of knocking out Dendra. That was our first and second curse (dendra second) of the game so the only way you probably could avoid it is to not have dendra in the army.
will send a couple turns later,
tim
