My problem with stealth bonuses is that they seem only to be given to emissaries and commanders. Agents never get it nor do mages. I really don’t understand, the Noldo and Sinda will name 3 agents and 1 emmy, and who will get the stealth bonus? The emmy, of course. I’ve been playing for years, and this has always been the way it happens for me.
Played the Noldo recently, didn’t get any stealth at all. Sinda got 1 stealthy c/a that game. Cardy, Dwarves, Eothraim, Northmen all got stealth. 23 turns, over 25 characters named, not 1 with stealth. Playing a game now, ALL the new Noldo have stealth…am I the Noldo? No…
Played the sinda, named 15 characters zero with stealth. Played the noldo, named 14 characters, five with stealth all on com agents (high stealth to boot) and two stealth agents came in the first four characters I named with the emmy not getting stealth.
On the extreme end of lucky, the Sinda in game 89 got stealth on 4 out of of 5 named agents and none of their named commanders, emmys etc. got stealth. (total of 14 characters named)
my experience is in line with the general. I’ve had to retire heaps of characters and only keep the odd stealth character as it appeared. I spent ages naming and retiring agents just to get some with stealth. I devoted several turns naming a few agents and only agents each time. I have had better luck?? with emii’s.
Turn 5 out, battles are heating up, DS armies are being over-run, most of the artifacts are in DS hands and a whole bunch of starting Free characters are hostages. Is it all but over? Both sides will say they’re winning, but since I’m (the Free) writing this, I can say, without a doubt, the Free are kicking but!!!
It’s definitely interesting though. Carn Dum gone, WK down to just one MT! And let’s not forget Dancu’s sterling work in failing to threaten a Dwarven town…
Dragon Lord is <coughs> fine <coughs> not in trouble at all <coughs>. Erm, really…
Dog cavalry can’t decide where to attack although luckily for the NM there is now an army at Esgaroth. Dilgul died last turn.
Ithil pass is safe and secure, but things are a lot sketchier at Morannon - how to stop those hordes of horsies?! And cheers, Eoder, for overrunning poor Tonn - may his memory come back to haunt you! Still, it makes things a little easier on the economy!
Down south things are very interesting - the attack on north Harad has stalled and things - hopefully - will start to turn around. South of the river I messed up my movements and bumped into your army And you’re gonna take an MT from me this turn! Not good. Luckily with Spring around the corner I have some breathing space economically
All in all very close, very tight. Not too many mistakes on either side (possibly none on yours!). Anyone’s game, although this would be my first “bad turn” over all. Which is unfortunate as I know that next turn is going to get a whole lot worse!!
