We all know that Sauron’s presence was a great bit of luck for us. Sometimes things in the game come down to luck, I’m sure you would agree.
We expected you to be tracking artifacts but thanks for confirming that for us.
As for Morannon and Durthang. No we did not take them so early in the game. When we did take Morannon however our armies then penetrated into Mordor. Our opposition, to their credit did rally to eventually win the game. Your strategy is different than mine or ours, but how boring would this game be if everyone played it the same way.
Does taking Morannon or Durthang have something to do with taking the Harad capitol? My comment was merely to say that I doubt at this stage of the game that the capitol of Harad falling will be decisive. Taking Morannon was an accomplishment. Honestly though if the cavalry that was sent raiding into Northern Gondor had been kept at home do you honestly think Morannon would have fallen so easily? Durthang often falls first of all the DS capitols it is the most exposed and has North Gondor troops aplenty facing it.
To answer your question however, no we did not take Morannon so early in the game. Then again we didn’t try as we did not have the means to follow up and exploit its capture. We did eventually take it and we did exploit the breakthrough into Mordor but that was a different game against different styles of play. Most of my team were rooky players but we gave it our best and learned a lot in the process.
This game has a long way to go and I’m sure there will be more surprises for everyone before it’s over.
You guys have done more damage to the rim of mordor but we did more damage to harad and to the northwest…personally I think it was probably about a draw in this regard.
However, we had about 30 emissaries of offensive quality and 5-6 killers and all of the curse artifacts except 1 (and plenty of other good artifacts too).
I’m not questioning your military gains and I’ve said before I’ve been impressed by many FP moves…I just don’t think you guys have the character development to seal the deal at this point and that over the next dozen turns the game will slowly slip away from you.
It’s sort of funny… we’ve had a similar situation where and edit wasn’t exactly what’s needed for the recipient… it’s still nice that someone is thinking of you
I used to play by mail… my contribution is I got a computer, saved a rainforest in paper and there’s less insurance claims from the mail man over manual handling injuries
You can come up with all the retorts you want. I think it will just get worse and worse for you guys now. We can discuss this later though. The game still has a long way to go. We are a patient team after all.
Dits, you guys have done better than average on military aspects and worse than average on other aspects of the game.
If you disagree with this, feel free to educate me on another aspect you guys are doing well at. (This isn’t a slam of your team but more pointing out where you have focused your resources.)
I certainly agree with you that all of our initial moves out of mordor didn’t work out well…but hey…all our nations are still healthy and no one has been eliminated.
If you want I’ll send you my Sinda pdf from last game around turn 10 and at game end around turn 18 and you’ll see what I’m getting at. Just drop me an email to darrelsenior@everestkc.net
Have a good weekend…I’m off to play a game of Arkham Horror with some friends.
Can we all get over the “We did this in the past and you didn’t in this game…” dick-measuring BS already? Have you ever seen a Woodmen nation as big and powerful as mine at this point in a game?? Extra pops, nothing burned (that I recall) only 1 character missing. Heck, I have armies AND I’m sending out cash to allies. I have emissaries in their 60’s and numerous agents juuuuust about to be ready to do what Woodmen agents are ready to do. blah blah bleet bleet randy randy randy. Cripes this is so boring, I wish I was dying by the droves and had something interesting to write about. “Goblin Gate isn’t as important as Cleveland”…“Yeah, well I once took Cleveland, Minas Ithil, and Tallahassee in the same turn!”…blah blah bleet bleet. See you in death, whose is unknown, someone’s is assured.
Ebb and flow, no? Where one nation takes his turn ebbing, well then, someone else has to flow. In the large scheme of things, whatever the state of this or that nation’s pdf, it’s not “impressive”, it simply is. So I apprecaite the kind regards, but I refuse to accept them.
We are rebutting your allies comments…who have been talking about a couple capitals taken many turns ago for page after page of this thread.
I had a hard enough time just getting this thread back to discussing MIDDLE EARTH after almost 2-3 pages of anything but Middle Earth. So do me a favor and shut your pie hole you hypocrite…you’ve done nothing for this thread and continue to not even discuss the game while lecturing us about content.
I’m not lecturing, I’m judging. T’is a free country and all that, likely whichever one you’re in. I judge you as a humourless boor with serious vanity and pride issues and no sense of perspective. You judge me as a pie holed hypocrite. Alls fair in love and war.
Ok boys, it is just a game after all. That was my problem earlier, that some were trying to be what I considered resorting to personal attacks let’s not go down that path again. Let’s try to do as Gixx says and have fun.
It is obvious that there are different styles of play at work here. Ours is a patient team. Yours seems to be one of military emphisis. We’ll just have to play it out and see which approach wins in the end.
poke. poke poke poke. You know, at least Brad, that one day we’ll all be on the same side, and more likely than not get along famously. Until then, Poke. Poke poke poke…
