I think they’ve done a fine job on a number of fronts. Less than advertised on others, who knows where the luck/rolls have gone for/against, as with us. We’ve done well here, not so much there, excellent hither and atrocious yon. But Keith speaks the truth - as the game wore on it became increasingly obvious that it never should have started. Some players were too nice. There’s more to this “game” than pieces on the board. Some players have learned their lesson…twicefold in one particular case.
Interesting results, a mixed bag this go round. Ole! to the Northmen at Sarn Goriwing, now limp away or we shall taunt you. Only one more candidate army?
I guarantee you that as a guy that works with numbers and in the insurance industry that I am ACUTELY aware of how “random events” can bite you in the posterior or save your bacon. Hurricanes, or the lack thereof in the US in any given year make things interesting for us even living in the middle of the country.
Early on in the game…Galadriel and then eagles made some not so pleasant appearances to our dismay and we had some sour luck last turn in several areas…sounds like it’s your turn for some eh?
Usually these things average out over time but that timeframe usually spans several games and it always hurts worst when it happens to you.
I might have not played that many games compared to some others here, but I never have seen a sauron encounter before - and twice this game. You know, we had a balrog visiting, too
I have seen “an inconvenient truth” last week and would be interested if the insurance fees in the US have indeed risen? that would mean that the economy is accepting something that the government is still denying somehow…
Insurance for the most part is supply and demand. So the rates generally follow perceived short term risk. (and ocean temperatures in the gulf and south atlantic are high)
I would not put much faith in global warming solely due to insurance rates etc. as they can shift heavily when a bunch of morons living in florida build multi-million dollar homes on essentially barrier islands etc. The state regulations are contributors too.
I don’t know what claims an inconvenient truth makes about insurance…email me privately if you want to discuss.
Edited to add that I don’t doubt global warming…just that claiming the insurance industry is “recognizing global warming” is probably not entirely accurate.
The Dark Lieutenants would like to thank South Gondor and the Corsairs for their excellent hospitality. As a spying mission, our raid to Berlin was not a great success - the only hitherto unknown information we gleaned (that Urzahil owns a major town in South Gondor) was immediately obvious as soon as I’d had a chance to read my turn.
In the war of propaganda, disinformation and black tricks I have to say Gerhard won hands down by lending me the first two boxes of Babylon 5 DVDs which I’ve watched obsessively - with the result than I’m now too tired to write a decent set of orders …
Thanks for introducing me to Middle Earth all those years ago and thanks again for your hospitality.
Urzahil is delighted with his new major town in South Gondor. Fortunately far enough from the coast to avoid disconcertingly fresh sea breezes. A true home away from home. And all those little towns, so pretty and innocent without any walls - we can hardly wait.
Blah. Game over. Enjoy your “victory”. We see a lot of these over here, they’re called Acclaimations when nobody contests elections. Considering how long it’s been, I have to wonder if you really want the win or should the DS simply retire embarassed before the ceremony?
Er. Brad is that a team concession? If you guys have decided to pack it in then someone should contact John Simpson and let him know. If not the orders are ready to run. Not quite as successful last turn for us as a team but successfull enough that we don’t feel embarassed. Not as much as the Northman commanders who lost their commands last turn. Now who will react to the Long Rider? Who will ride to lift the sieges of the Cardolan and Arthedain capitals? Not over yet unless you guys make it so.

wow, i haven’t read that title in many years. yes, a solid show. one character now makes the occasional appearance on “LOST” a pretty popular show here in the states.
enjoy your viewing.
as for the game, anything posted on this board is pretty much for fun, and i dont take much(if any) of your teams babble as fact. but it is fun. the dwarven ring of power is in hex ++++. it might be in your possession next turn, it might not be in your possession next turn. you think gorthog is the only guy who can steal artifacts. no, you know gorthog hog isn’t the only guy who can steal artifacts. where is tinculin these days?
the long rider, what a nazgul in a dingy with a few troops?
besides, if my side loses, i had fun.( too much time reading emails from GIXX)
