Game 18 GB finished

Hi all,

GB Game 18 just finished. I took over the almost-dead Northmen/Dwarves position at T19 and dragged them to nearly the end before both nations succumbed to DS mage/agent power, against which I was defenseless. In the end, looks like my only contribution was staying alive to increase the # of DS targets.

I’m curious about the rest of the world, if anyone wants to swap turn sheets please let me know!

Hi

I played 4/1. I asked to end it once my base was picked apart by Emmys and I realized the f$@king with King moved capital north of misties, also I was loosing my Western recruiting centers.

I chose to burn the Eoolex and free pop centers near lonely mountain as I could not hold with the agents / and curse squad.

Solid game by the dark. The witch was a very good opponent. I’d love to hear his: her thoughts

Hello Whit! What a game, fun to begin with, pain in the middle and fun by the end. I voted to continue but the writing was on the wall. Congratulations to the DS for a well fought game.

I played NG and the Duns in this game, my first game back in about 7 years. It showed lol, made an absolute ton of mistakes which cost me dearly. I felt the freep had the running early, NG killed a lot of starting armies and the Eoth/SG took the capitals and a result, a lot of mordor was overrun early with most DS down to 1 MT left. But the DS were stubborn, most didn’t die and they fought back very well. I hate to say it but losing SG/Eoth and the Harad about halfway through the game with no notice was the turning point in my mind as the corsair/drag lord combo went to town in the south. With the WK holding out well up north, the Duns were still sending armies north, NG was tied up taking 3630 (and knocking out the CL as a result) and Gondor went down like a house of cards. At one point, NG was down to 6 characters with only 1 with command skill! I didn’t help myself either around this time as I decided to keep the pressure on the FK/QA, who I thought were close to getting eliminated but in the end, they relocated to the NW. I then made a revival with emmies and by the end, NG and the Duns owned a lot of the south and umbar and I had a few armies in the south taking MTs built up in the south east and was about to land on the WK capital at 1326.

I started to do a comprehensive turn summary for NG but gave up relatively shortly (I am far too lazy lol), read the following only if you are bored!
