This game is done. Victory goes to you of the Free People. Fire King went bankrupt this turn and another DS or two will likely go bankrupt this coming turn.
This game has been marred by lack of communication and coordination on the DS side with a fair share of incompetent players. Witch-king let his position go under. Ice King dropped. Easterlings dropped. Cloud Lord dropped after losing 3 of his best agents because he didn’t know you had to refuse challenge with agents in a company and of course didn’t ask his allies whether this was true. Thankfully we were able to get replacement players or else the game would have been finished around turn 12 no later than turn 15. Big thanks to Steve Muller, Tom MacCabe, and Mary Cinke for filling these positions and trying to do the impossible.
We haven’t heard from the Blind Sorcerer since January and then it was only short e-mail stating he would be too busy to communicate. He must have had a real busy year because we never heard much from him at all. You Freeps will probably want to send everything you have against him because he won’t know the rest of his team has dropped. If you want to try and reach him: Jeff Selengut; selengut@attbi.com
Good Game,As you said this game should have been over around turn 15. Harad going bankrupt and very good play by your replacement players did make it interesting.
Adunaphel regrets not being able to suck your soul. Perhaps in another game? I’d be interested in hearing how things went on your side throughout the game…
It’s over? No! Come on! You guys put it to the Northmen before we countered and SG has got to be hurting after all those agent raids. Is it really over??
Like I said, Blind Sorcerer will probably continue playing as he hasn’t communicated with our team and won’t know the rest of us have dropped. With allies like him, who needs enemies? Not to cut you down though Hallas, you were still needed in taking us down. Oh I forgot to mention before that the Easterlings actually was replaced twice. Steve was the third player to give it a go and give it a go he did.
:rolleyes Come on now, we had our share of adversity too with people dropping and their turns being special serviced, especially early in the game. You guys lost and that’s the end of it.You play with the teamates you are given.
I’m not sure how you can infer from what I have written that I’m trying to say that we didn’t lose. I was trying to help you guys out by letting you know who to go after. We did indeed lose and you guys won. You are correct: you win and lose the game with the teammates you are given. Your team was the better…not sure if you want to brag that much though.
mr carr,
seeing how we are geographical neighbors. you did win. cracking into mordor is not an easy accomplishment. on the reverse, a large portion of the dark side was replaced, or dropped / fell silent. a victory is a victory.
For those of you that thought I quit on several occasions throughout this campaign, just wanted to let you know that I was here until the end, and with my teammates deciding that this game is out of reach, I have just received confirmation of my release of the Doglord from Clint today. Congratulations to your team on the victory, hopefully the outcome will be different for the DS next time.
For you DS, just to let you know that we Free also had our share of drops and nation changing. Early on, the Eothraim dropped, then the Arthedain and then the Noldo. So, non-committment of your teammates was not a DS only problem. My hats of to the Easterlings (Steve) and QA (Joel), excellent job.
Now guys I’m just doing a little victory dance,no need to get all snippety.I do respect the way you hung in there and Mr Muller was especially annoying to our side.
Good Luck in the future
Gents it was a good game all in all. I know when Harad was on the ropes and the SG dropped I thought we were going to take a nose dive. The Steve’s Easterlings were great and it took a few of us to handle him. Your FireKing player was solid! He held in there even after Mordor was breached. Honestly I’d would have liked to have seen one of the other nations get the victory rather than the Duns. I just jumped in around turn ten. Yes, I felt joining them helped the side to victory, but LOTS of other people put in a lot of time and effort to make it happen. Hope to see you all again on one side of the battle field or the other.
