Game 2, POWER Game

ok. It’s THURSDAY. Who hasn’t submitted your orders??? Please do so. That will enable this to run on Friday!

Or, if the DS are really quitting (rumblings have been heard), then please say so.

Dave

We have at least 5 positions being dropped, so there is 99% chance that this game will finish this turn.
2 of them were dropped due to financial cirumstances. The others are now being dropped because the team has collapsed. Noone is willing to make the effort to coordinate team activities and the spirit is very low.
The position of the DS is not unwinable, although clearly the free have the upper hand. But it would take a lot of effort and noone is willing to put that effort into the game.

Thanx for a nice game. It was very fun playing the dragon lord for the first 6 turns. It all fell apart when Rhudaurs dragon went to the wrong army and you blocked my dragon outside dol guldur. It was a mistake for me to stand 2 hexes from dol G, but I thought that you would be afraid of me attacking the sinda capital, that I could have reached from the hex I was in. Still with the eothraim going for me as well as the other mirkwood nations I am well pleased with my campaign.

Over and out.

Lothrim, thanks for the heads up.

Clint/Rob - what’s the scoop?

Yes unfortunately it looks like we have had a colapse in will to continue the fight. :frowning: No one was in a position to fill the two vacated nations and moral has been quite low since the Southern Neutrals went together. (fighting the loosing battle syndrome) The position is not hopeless but a win was very unlikely, our artifacts are just about all in the water and you have 80% of the others so we are well behind on that front. I have submitted my turn but susspect most of the others have not. I must say I have been hugely dissapointed with the slow turnaround in this game. It should have been every 3-5 days, very annoying.

The opinions on the neutral split aside, there is another issue at hand. What is the feasibility of getting enough players together to do a PWR game again? While I agree that the fast turn-around that we were expecting didn’t happen, even at its worst it was still faster than every other game currently running. I will freely admit that the turns were delayed at least twice on my account, but that is irrelevant. Is the system viable? That is the real question…

I am willing to give it one more shot. The worst case scenario is the game devolves into another 1 week turn around.

POWER EO

I would consider it, especially if some of the tweaks proposed in Pearly’s thread were implemented.

I must say, the short turnaround is tough as DS. There’s a lot of micro level coordination that needs to be done, and not a lot of time to do it. Definitely makes for an interesting challenge…

Um… Guys…
Game 2 is not yet officially over. There has been no confirmation from Clint or Rob. As such, we MUST conclude that it is still on and that replacement players have or are being found, and/or that this whole “players are dropping” thing is a ruse…

All I can confirm is the majority of players have pushed that they were going to drop/conceed the game. I only know of one other player who had organised their turns orders, I do not know if they have submitted them. I have submitted my orders and am waiting for confirmation that the game has ended. Two of our team have dropped and no orders have been organised for them and no replacements yet found. Communications have been sporadic at best over the last 2 weeks. Sorry I can’t be more informative.
