Game 221 - Turn 10

My my, look at all those Dark Servant armies on the wrong side of the river. Too bad we’ve already done our damage 5 turns ago. And tell me, how is the Quiet Avenger feeling these days?

And it’s good to see you’re making a fight of it. Picked up some new allies, eh?

    Noldo Elves

So- Corsairs and Khand both went ds eh? And ds agents EVERYWHERE eh? Well- I guess my work in the south has only just begun- just in time for a visit from the humpalots and all thier various kin (agents that breed like rabbits for obvious reasons…) Din Ohtar too? There’s room for everybody! The hotels are all booked up though- summer tourist season is in fll swing- you’ll have to take accomadations in the old fort Im afraid. Not to worry, we have a lovely cell- I mean suite… yeah that’s it… a SUITE for you and your friends!

Macman
King of Tourism
(Just ask our new subjects in the south about how much touristy business we did down there… we didn’t just buy the merchandise, we bought the whole place!)

They can have all the agents they want. We’ll just roll into Mordor and burn everything in sight without a problem. I’ve seen it done before.

  • Ben
    Noldo Elves

Yawn, and prey tell where are all these armies of which you speak?

My maps show Gondor woefully undefended.

I know for a fact you could do it Ben, but it doesn’t look as though everyone involved is with the program.

The Evil Brain in a Jar foresees a couple of bad turns for the Free coming up…

A couple of bad turns, eh? This is to make up for the 10 straight bad turns you guys have had, right? Gram, captured. Gundabad, burned. Goblin Gate, flipped. Sarn Goriwing, revealed and soon to fall. Morgul, burned. Lugarlur, captured. Jug Rijesha, captured. Witch King and Quiet Avenger, eliminated.

Our only foul up has been losing the artifacts, but hey, it happens. Agents can certainly cause headaches, that’s for sure. And they can certainly cripple a nation, but they can’t eliminate a nation. Armies wipe nations out. And we’ve got plenty of armies.

You know, it’s kinda nice being able to sit back here with the Rangers, Dwarves, and Silvan and nation build. Gondor and Rohan take a beating every game; it’s their purpose. But just wait until our armies reach the front line. I guarantee you’ll be in a world of hurt. Oh, and we’ve got a surprise for you too. Snicker

Just wait for me to show you how a real bankrolling nation can help one’s allies.

Noldo Elves, Sitting Comfortably in the Northwest

Well, our intel suggests that some of your ‘nation builders’ aren’t so much building as stagnating.
Armies you say? Where? We have lots of recons and scys and maps and we can’t see many of yours that are anywhere useful.

I’m going to let the next few turns do my talking for me, though I may indulge in some gloating here and there.

Please, any side that gets three neutrals to declare for them within two turns damn well better have something to gloat about. Meanwhile, you can still try to recover from the beatings we’ve already given you. And future beatings are in order.

  • Ben
    Noldo Elves

The only beatings that go on from now will be you chaps beating the sides of your heads in despair as we rollercoaster across Middle Earth in a wave of frenzied destruction. Or something.

I love the unsubstantiated threats and promises of dire retribution! I have to point out though that Ben is far more likely to actually have big nasty armies that you guys don’t see… as opposed to you having a machine capable of steam rolling anything, anywhere… Corsairs will help you shuffle some forces to the gondors- perhaps, and the Easterlings will be a savage little battle for certain- but you don’t have much else going for you - except of course for the hordes sitting idle on the east bank and the odd force that was clever enough to move out 3 or 4 (or 5) turns ago… and they are accounted for.

I look forward to seeing what tricks you have up your collective sleeves— and as a warning: I have a few of my own left over. You better kill me quick 'cause I will kill you if you don’t!

Macman
Up for a challenge- and some suprises!

Wonderful thing about the Mantle, I can hide ANYTHING, ANYWHERE on the map, and you jokes will have no clue until it’s too late. Ya know, this one time I saw the Mantle used to hide a pop center right on the eastern edge of Mordor. A few turns to upgrade, a few turns to hire some HC, and next thing ya know, by turn 15 1000+ HC was running around inside Mordor burning everything in sight. If I remember correctly, Barduath was among those that burned. Just something for you guys to think about.
