To all you few remaining freeps, it would be nice to know your thoughts as to how this game is going for you. I do truly hope that you forsee wrestling a victory out of this game and this is not some childish bughunt, as you waste both your time and all of ours.
The DS deserve atleast an answer as which to whether it is the former or the latter, that motivates your team to continue. Personally I just wish to know therefore I can summarily blacklist any players prolonging the game just to be annoying…the ball is in your court Freeps…
bughunt no longer necessary gentleman… well, I think, anyway. I’ll be sending an email shortly informing Harly (they still run mepbm, don’t they?) that I’ll be dropping, and I think the rest of us are going to do so as well. We’ve actually been trying to locate the damn ring for quite a few turns now… various things (like a dragon eating my company commander, hence the person he was ferrying to meet the noldo to transfer a mage artifact didn’t take place until a turn later… but that is just one of many SNAFUs) have caused us setbacks, and while we’ve located it, we haven’t located it true, and morale has finally dropped to the point where we no longer want to give it a whirl.
well if that is the case guys, let us know. Kudos to you for holding out for a long while… Noldo / Woodies / Dwarves / Cardolan seem to have been the lynch pins of your team though you were all pretty damn hard to suppress ! I am not even sure how many of the FP players are those that started the game. If you hadnt have gone premptive on the Duns then maybe things would still be quite balanced… anyway if you feel like a chat about the game once it is over its always interesting to hear it from the other side
about turn 20 I think there was a mass exodus of FP players… I was one of the replacements (Arthedain)… others I think included northmen, eothraim, cardolan, and harad… I almost wanted this to go on at least a couple more turns just so I could cause some mischief in east mordor - I was going to march out 2000 HC in st/st with 30 war machines this turn from off-map… not that it would’ve caused any nation-threatening damage, but it would’ve been fun to burn a few things and see the commotion it would’ve caused before being assassinated or cursed… plus I finally got to poke a few DS at 2421, even though you guys got my company commander and I got stuck there…
Ah… arthedain I dont know why I missed you out of my list above… you had a pretty nifty parcel of characters trolling around too we did know about your off map pop centre (4430 or something right?) but didnt really have a plan to deal with it… you might have caused some havoc indeed
BaaBaa… we have armies scattered throughout mordor… we hire dragons 2 a penny now and have dragons sitting on mordor pop centre armies…
I don’t think the Art army would have done any damage at all…
Shame the FP couldn’t get the One ring quickly… I’d have enjoyed a mass kill frenzy at 3423…
As for the bug hunt… can’t wait for it to end… this part of the game is really agony… guess we have to put in 1 more set of orders and hope to see a game end message.
As for the mass FP exodus on T20… I’m a little surprised that Harley stuck a whole new set of players in… I didn’t think this was part of the package anymore… why weren’t the FP declared dead then… its almost like we’ve played 2 games in 1…

This has been one of my greatest irritations with Harley and is of long standing. You win these games like you win wars in the Real World. You erode the will to resist. There are specific methods that assist in this sort of psyops. Harley just replaces the discouraged and pounded -out with someone fresh and vigorous. I think the 'Brit Clique" persuaded them it made for a longer game—but it must not if most games are over in 15 to 20 turns, as Clint once indicated.
I think that it’s probable that the guys picking up the spots have NO CLUE just how bad it is for thier side. (And should harley try to discourage them? Perhaps…they should want to keep their customers happy.)
Additionally, I’ve played in games where the opposition players pay so little attention to how their teamates are doing that as long as thier nation is healthy they are happy…which is probably why their teamates got pounded in the first place.
I agree that it could be irritating…what I dislike most are people talking trash, getting crushed, but dropping before the end and not sticking around for the walk of shame.
Hope to be playing again with you soon Mr. Mills it’s always a blast.
