Game 31

I say we take off and nuke 'em from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

How’re things up north, Fletch?

My cavalry’s mounts are yet licking up the blood of those Northern Gondor troops which fell beneath their paws at Thuringwathost. They found the blood of the eothraim a bit unpalatable. “Oh well”, I said, “as long as they’re well fed.”

Third of The Nine

We only went to Thuringwothost-a-whats to change the sign. The 354th Law of Gondor states that if you are going to put a name on a slag heap, you must give it a one or two syllable name and it must be pronouncable.

Things up North are rather nice. Snow and more Snow…I thought it was spring??? Next time you shouldnt refuse challenge with Ji Indur…it would have been really hot if Tarondor had killed him!

It would seem that Tarondor was the only free character there NOT refusing challenges. My commanders were so disappointed. I think their disappointment was evident in the rage with which they dispatched your countrymen, and those of your lackey the Eothraim. Your statement belies the fact that you still do not understand the nature of your enemy. Ji Indur has no need to clash steel with his foes when a blade between the ribs is so much more quick and a great deal more quiet. You see, Ji hates loud noises, and crowds make him anxious.

Third of The Nine

Crowds only make him nervous in the “Too many targets; not enough time” sense. At this point, my master simply has us keep a list and tells us when it needs…updating.

Well, we thought about fighting with Gothmog one on one, but then the stentch got to be too much!

Hey Fletch,

I’m just curious about this, but what kind of information did you get on your turn about the presence of my army at Tir Nindor on turn 3? I am asking because I moved there evasively, and am wondering if any information about my army was not provided. For example, what nation’s army it was, what the size was, etc. If you’d be kind enough to let me know, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks.

The mighty Gondorians pay no heed to Orc rabble at the walls. Even if said Orc rabble later storms the walls.

How many Dark Servants does it take to take Minas Ithil…1…2…3…4…

You’ve dropped the bridges, killed a few commanders and now sent the Long Rider to the party too??

Its gonna suck when its turn 10 and I still own the place!

You really should just except the fact that Gondor is your overlord!!

Actually, we don’t want to take it. We’re having a passal of fun rolling boulders down on your troops as you send them clamoring up the mountain road. In fact, it has become such a popular past time, that the Balrog of Moria has opened up a betting parlor at Barad Ungol. Rumor has it that those who do not settle their debts by end of day find themselves encased in spider silk.

Third of The Nine

Well, well. Somehow my Lord has a new summer home in Osgiliath. Don’t worry, we’ll treat your former citizens with exactly the same care and respect you’d treat us with. Poor souls…

OOC: Pretty enjoyable game so far folks! Looking forward to seeing how things end up.

How many neutrals does it take to destroy Aglarond?
1…2…3…4…
oops, nope, just 1.

How about Tir Anduin? let’s form a pool…

We do note, great King Tarondor, that you withdrew your forces from Osgiliath (ensuring the fall of Osgiliath) so that you might send them forth to greet our own forces. Or did they go on Holiday? Such a compliment if indeed you send them to greet us!

Our cavalry rides strong and hard. We leave corpses in our wake. At least you’ll have something to do with your forces. prepare to bury your dead mighty Gondor.

Lord Enion, Scourge of the Plains

I would have had a welcoming party at Aglarond, but my future army commander had an unfortunate run in with a Balrog, so I thank you for scouring the Town of its obviously evil inhabitants and thier leader!

As for Osgiliath, well, with no bridge, we cant cart in all of the luxuries of the empire so no one really wants to live there, besides, the Orcs lower the property values.

Threatening Ithil isnt going to work, please capture it already!

Oh and lets see, I have Duns in the west, no bridge in the east…Ji Indur in my capital 2 turns running and now it seem some southern neutrals coming to pick on the pieces, seems I am tying up the DS alliance rather well!!!

You’ll never take me a alive!!

The King (not Elvis)

Gosh, I wish I could accept some credit for the Balrog…
But as they say, it’s better to be lucky. Always better to be Lucky

And don’t fret about welcoming parties. We’re preparing lots of welcoming celebrations for the Cardolan and Arthedain who seem to be sending their armies on work-crews to create a new road from east to west on the 14th parallel. It’s very pretty how they’re all lined up. Nice formation! We are disappointed that they didn’t come visit our camp in the swamp though. it’s such a nice camp. all swampy and gooey with lots of creepy crawly thingys.

That’s the point, isn’t it?

As for my Lord being in Minas Anor so frequently, apparently He was measuring the royal suites to see if His library would fit. I’m afraid He believes remodelling will be needed.

I think I have some beacons I need to be lighting soon…problem is, since the bridges went down, we’ve been out of Orc corpses to burn for heat, now I guess we have to go and fell some trees.

As for the Balrog, it was very appropriate, but I had several choice words to throw at my turn that round! I can only hope that he repays the favor to the Duns at some point!!

…and why would you remodel for just one torn page from some old book…Nazgul cant read!
