You guys take Goblin Gate and Dol Guldur, and yet the Dragon Lord is now nearly stronger than ever (and the rest of us are stronger still). Seriously, aside from the obvious perpetual targets of the DL and WK, what have you guys accomplished? You have the Ring of Curufin? That’s hardly the only interesting ring in the game.
You say we are in for trouble (“just ask the IK” I believe was the quote), and SG sends something like 7k-8k troops into the IK cap. Where they will do what exactly? No matter. Gothmog and friends will be happy to give them a proper welcome this turn. Should have picked the DogL capital… I hope at least that he brought along some war machines to make it interesting.
Hmmm. What else? We destroyed the bridge at Osgiliath and gosh you sure showed us by rebuilding it and yet you still weren’t able to push past Minas Ithil. Actually, this turn looks like we have you back at Osgiliath. Maybe SG shouldn’t have wasted his time and money and troops and food marching north…
Want more? OK, how about the EO forgetting to refuse challenge on all 4 characters in his mighty army at Dol Guldur. Darn his luck that the order prevented one of the DL’s challenges from going through. The Woodmen attacked me and lost and the Sinda stood by and watched as I slipped away to burn a NG town. I will concede that NG caught me this turn, but can’t believe I got out of Dol Guldur at all.
I could go on, but don’t want to ruin any surprises…
Skarp
DarkLts
Skarp is…about to kick some butt! (and is also known as Nate Hellmers)
I like your sum up of the position. I am glad you are optimistic still - I wouldnt want the game to end to quickly.
But heres some teasers for you:
One of the following DS might have some of their starting armies left at the end of this turn. Which one do you think it might be:
Doglord
CloudLord
IK
BS
Dark Lts
**** QA ****
or LR
At the start of the turn, Eothraim had 4000 cavalry at 2815 and took “Some losses”. How many cavalry do you think he has left and where do you think they might go next?
You havent seen a second wave of troops yet from SG, Dwarves, Sinda, Eothraim, Nmen. How many HI do you think those 5 nations have got, and where are they going?
if you start with Dudannis, and give him the RoC and the Sinda stealth artefacts, is he better or worse the Din Ohtar?
If you get 4/4, we might let you keep the IK capital
Does he know we’re about to put money on who will get to Barad-Dur first.
Skarp,
I’m glad you’re feeling warm and cosy… I was just writing to my allies asking if I’d missed something or was the game virtually over
So you are the DkL ehh… we might keep you in until the end, so you can be impressed by the number of troops coming at you.
Have you seen Aliens… the scene in the room when the bleep machine (I’m no techie, don’t know the name) starts bleeping at masses of incoming Aliens… heeheehee… bleep… bleep… bleep… bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
Ah, it’s true. We have expended many of our starting forces (Sauron believes in using temps to avoid paying benefits). But then they have been replaced by shiny new troops (note the word “shiny”). Btw, the starting forces of the CL and BS are looking forward to the next turn…
Well the math is easy enough (for Dark Servants at least). My guess is that he was planning to go to 3120 until the IK ran into him. But that is just an educated guess. Maybe I’m giving your team too much credit and he was actually going to guard the north end of Mirkwood.
When your troops are too scared to show up for a fight, don’t start asking me where they are.
If you actually have those artifacts on Dudannis, I will probably fall out of my chair laughing. And while we’re talking about those kinds of artifacts, the DS have quite a few more (and are getting more all the time!). Take Din Ohtar (or better yet Ji Indur) and give him just a few of the stealth and agent artifacts held by other DS nations–is he better or worse than anything the FP’s could ever field?
I think we’ll keep the IK capital without needing any charity from you.
You think I’m feeling cozy? Obviously you don’t know Sauron very well and you are also obviously overlooking the fact that my home is next to a freakin’ big volcano. Dang I love winter…

But the CL and BS forces are both going to lose ??? Dont say that the DS are into suicidal lust deviancy !
Nah, we’re looking forward to saving the money from finally losing these troops. Been trying to do that for ages but you lot haven’t obliged as you’ve been so busy hiding in Mirkwood and not attacking Mordor
Maybe we will lose those two fights, but at a minimum they buy us time. We’re at turn 6 now and the FP’s haven’t made any headway (WK and DL attacks aside), wasting their true advantage at game start. The troops that the CL and BS will destroy will take time to replace. Meanwhile Mordor gets stronger and stronger.
Btw, tell the EO we appreciate his support of the DL’s finances. It’s more than made up for the loss of income from Dol Guldur.
Hiding, hiding… next you’ll be accusing us of sneekin’. We don’t sneek, we just move purposely from one objective to the next.
Can you hear that thunder… its the sound of thousands of marching men and dwarves - you can’t hear the Elves, they wear silk slippers
BTW Skarp… answer to 2> why would we need the Cav to guard the north end of mirkwood???
And how do the ClL and BlS troops buy you time? They were expected exactly where they turned up… running late though
Damn annoying losing a character to assassination though… didn’t think you guys had it in you… damn, that ws inconvenient. Still, the extra revenue comes in handy
And stop stealing from the Eot or I’ll stop sending him gold… might as well spend it myself!!!
Hail dark beast,
I’m looking forward to the battle at Durthang as it has been so
boring after you blow the brigde at Minas Anor and Osgiliath.
So Bod I would have been standing inside Mordor if you didn’t
remove it, but as my good fellow said bleep bleep I can hear them
down here to
