Game 54; Free Victory!

Anyone have any comments? As SG/Eo I was surprised at how easy it was to toy w/the minions of Sauron. Without any dialog we managed to easily push our will upon the Servants of Dark and take away what little spirit they had.

Kudos to NG/Duns for a non-stop offensive and understanding of events. As for SG/Eo, we took out Morannon early on, eliminating the Dog and assassed what appeared to be the receiving emmy for the IK at OLbamarl; thus eliminating the IK as NG took his cap. And towards the end, eliminated the QA. Many minor victories in between including destroying the Corsairs fleet and a few thousand souls in the process.

From my perspective, the DS really needed dialog, and the early dog actions really played into the Eo hands. I look forward to another game; hopefully more challenging than this one.

Not sure what the DoL was doing…looked like he might have jacked his tax rate since a bunch of his camps degraded. I don’t know about the rest of the DS economies but I think we started this game in winter and the DkL/WK economies were terrible.

I played WK and kudos to Arthedain and Cardolan for the constant pressure in the NW. Not sure what Rhudaur was doing but his lack of recruitment and my horrible luck with dragons pretty much sealed it up in the end.

My DkL partner did what he could to help in the Ithil pass but quite honestly I’m not sure how a GB DS team could stop the steamroller that went through there. You’d need all available agents and their toys in that area to stop the huge armies coming in. Ouch! When we lost Morannon and then the interior of Mordor was flooded with FP armies it was obvious the game was over but it still took 3 votes to finally end the darn game. Sigh.

Good job FP! This was my first time with the WK/DkL combo and definitely lots of lessons learned.

Pretty damn good work from the Gondors! Hard to find targets for agent and emmy action when a lot of Mordor capitals and MTs have been captured or destroyed.

As Card/Sind had early success against WK/Rhu. As Bernie has said, not too sure what Rhu was up to. Great work also from Arth, Dwarves and Duns. Had 3000HC st/st ready to tear down the DkL cap at 2006…Sinda had 2 agents with LOTS of stealth, made some good kills throughout the game.

Good game FP and commiserations to the DS.

I took over Noldo/Harad on T6… Harad had lost 2 of the southern towns, 2732 and
another 2 of the northen bank towns. By recruiting HC in st/st and with major SG
assistence I managed to wrestle back the north bank even with Corsiars bringing
a dragon to play against my hc with mumaks… At the same time Corsiars sent
6000+ against the remaining Harad holdings in the south bank which I managed to
defeat with more HC and plenty of Hi. From then on I managed to push back
Corsiars into Umbar where by end of game I had taken 3 of his major towns
and at game end Vamag and another Cors major town was about to fall. DrL
agents and curses took out 4 Harad chars in the last few turns making life
difficult but the writing was already on the wall…

Noldo was played terribly before I took over, instead of laying down camps
for sending essential product to Harad the previous player had just increased
some towns to major towns. No spells had been learnt and most of the new
character slots had commanders… It took me 3 turns to redevelop the nation
and get into the fight.

Thanks for SG/Eo for being there for Harad and kudos to Corsiars/DrL for
making a good fight of it.

Thanks for SG/Eo for being there for Harad and kudos to Corsiars/DrL for
making a good fight of it.

your welcome. I figured Harad could hold out the initial Corsairs attack while I moved against the pass. Turn 6 is when I caught the Corsairs navy and landed on the north shore. Corsair/DrgL did give a solid game, but he needed help and the DS just did not have success anywhere to offer help for each other. Anybody know who played NG/Duns? outstanding job there!

Been a while since Ive been on the boards but like Guy I took over the Arthedain/Woodmen for this game. Was fun but I had to do a lot of reshuffling. Nothing much was happening in Mirkwood but the WK was a good challenge as he’d not been touched by the look of things. Rhudaur was ineffective as well which was strange. A good game to get me back into the GB style but could have been more of a challenge!
