Well its good to know the free have some fight left in them.
Looks though that the Noldo and Woodies are in for a world of hurt this turn…Just because I razed your capital to the ground pointy-ear, you think to do anything at mine? Better watch your back
Hey Sinda how does it feel to have that many would-be-killers and thieves struck down by some illness.
Another army Arthedain? I would have thought you would have learned your lesson seeing as Ive ground 2 to the ground, killed off 1 more…the hits will keep coming
Expect to loose two towns minimum and everyone at the Corsairs capital.
Do your worst at my capital, best you can hope to do is kill a few non essential characters. Let them sit there for a few turns wasting their time, I got backups and plenty to sell elsewhere.
Let’s see the Corsairs survive with all those troops in the field and a shrinking assets base. Do you have the resourses to stop our emmy/agent squads?
We killed off one agent squad already no? What makes you think we cant do it again…
Now is that 2 pop centers or actually 2 towns? I have a better chance of surviving than you think…besides as far as shrinking pop centers…think you’ll hold 2711 for too long??
You guys killed two agents and a company commander in 2 turns, great for you. It tied up how many of your characters for this effort?, not very effective use of orders. In those two turns we flipped 2 or was it 3 towns and killed a high ranking Cloud Emmy. This turn we will flip 2-3 Corsair towns and kill/kidnap every character in his capital. We will also flip anothr 2-3 next turn, you might be able to stop us at one pop if you can get troops on it, but the others are goners. Want to take a little wager on your being able to keep the Corsairs alive over the next 2-3 turns.
Considering the lame start by us and the 4-1 neutral advantage the DS have had and the fact SGon went renogade and had to be put down, we shouldn’t still be playing, a poor effort on the DS part that we are still an effective opposition. (How long we stay effective is another matter! )
Regards Herman (the still defiant Woodies and Noldo)
Laff Ill take that wager…I bet I last longer than the Noldo will…Again Im waiting to see just how many towns of the Corsairs you get…considering he is taking 2 towns this turn too :), oh and a woodmen mtown perhaps…
As to the freep bad start…it seems the DS had a long stagnant run too…so dont pat urselves on the back too much…
As for tied up characters? What did Akira, tharudan, felenous, istarte and fingolfan really accomplish, oops did I forget amroth…seems like thats more than just a 2 char loss eh??
I wasn’t patting us on the back I was kicking you guys in the pants. This game should never have lasted this long with all the advantages the DS had. It shows the initial poor co-ordination on their part. If it wasn’t for the Corsairs flipping when they did I don’t think they would have won it at all.
Yes we are conceeding, the situation is beyond us, all we could hope to do is cripple/knock out a nation or two before expiring but the majority feel it is time to award you your hard fought victory. Congratulations.
You know, I am offended by all this trash talk by the Corsairs player in this thread and the others on this game.
I mean, congratulations man, you wait until turn 20 to declare for the side that 3 other neutrals have already declared for, and then you coast in for yet another Corsairs as Dark Servant first place win. Whoopdy-freaking-doo.
And you have the gaul to brag about it? Yeah you’re really cool, and such a great gamer for exploiting one of the most obvious weaknesses in the mepbm system. I hope you have as much of a blast kicking the FP while they were already down as you do telling us all how great you are.
You know what, I dont know who you are dont care who you are. Unless you are/were in this game you know nothing about what has been going on. If you were in this game, shame on you for making Herman and Matt do all the work. There was more involved in this game than you may know. Herman knows this was just fun trash talking, and I had respect for his work despite his team’s lack of teamwork.
I didnt coast anything, anyone actually playing this game would know what was involved, you want more answers wait till the post game write up is complete, until then perhaps you should take a better look at your poor play, and not make assumptions…
Corsairs were not jumping on a bandwagon, they went late for reasons that were unique to this game. In the end the game was going to be won by the team the Corsairs went with. I have no problems with any of the “Trash talking” that has been done in this forum, it’s been good fun and lively. Don’t go pointing the finger at anyone, it gets no-one anywhere.
Herman to be honest, you have nothing to feel humble about. You guys did a great job of pulling together in the end against harsh odds. I have nothing but respect for your leadership and the brutal attempt your team made, my hats off to all of you. When the end buzzer rings, Ill post a report as to shine some light on the more odd occurances in this game.
Mike’s on the Trash Top 10 list, closer to the top than the bottom. Have gotten it from him up one side and down the other a couple times over the years… It’s a subtle aspect of the game that some obviously enjoy more than others. My skin has thickened, as has my enjoyment of the game in/outside the game. Looking forward to the oddities that created a turn 20 declaration - I suspect the Corsairs were more confused than the rest of the players that it actually happened as such.
Well, if this really is the end - Congratulations to the FP on a well-played game. I usually leave the trash-talking to the experts like Mike, but I have genuinely enjoyed the gameplay. Hope to see all of you in future games.
PS – Woodmen, how much loyalty did I bring 2711 down? – I was really surpirsed it didn’t flip as 6 emissaries got hits!
Brad…Brad, I would have thought by now you would know better than to make asumptions about game play having not been in the game. But yet you do not see, fear not it will be explained in time…
As for trash talking, its a small part of the game. Anyone who takes offense to it, really needs to either A) Stay off the thread or B) take a serious reality pill. Its in game stuff that stays in game. thats it, it has nothing to do with ones play.
P.S. As far as top 10? Im flattered but no, Ive seen much bigger talkers than little ole me. Some people go so far as to write newsletters.
Still a respectable 16, it started at 83 so you knocked it 67 points. I was not worried about the capital for this turn but if the game had gone on and your guys had hung around it wouldn’t have been pretty. It’s on 100 by the way.
Mike, ya bastid LOL who’d ya pay off to rape my nation 5 turns in a row before the game ended  The freeps gave you #1 I tell ya!!! LOL
Grats bro, lets continue to excell together in game 90!
And OMG lol Mick, You realize before SG pulled that phsycho ward maneuver, you were about to become one of the first DS Casualties? LOL from the jaws of elimination to a top nation! Better send thank you notes to Chris Wiome for his rogue insanity, which was your salvation! hehe Grats bro! You played well and was concientous towards your would be adversaries. Your diplomacy did help our decisions to call it off.
BTW for those who don’t know the details of this game, (in a nutshell) SG’s actions did not make Cors and Harad go DS directly. It was a stay of hand for QA to whom we had planned on attacking (while staying neutral); to which SG’s landing put a hold to. Then we had time to re-evaluate this game, and pursue a course that we felt would prolong it, rather than end it by turn 10.
