Hi there,
here’s the CL. Nobody posted for our lovely game yet???
Tine
Hi there,
here’s the CL. Nobody posted for our lovely game yet???
Tine
You’re supposed to be the secretive one Tine. I see you’ve come to visit not to be unhospitable but please make your stay a short one and do not take all the towells.
But Brad,
you know how much can be hidden in the open and behind a smile … Towels are in the washing machine. I’ve only used the dark ones.
Tine
Well,
then let us start talking, Ji Indûr. Perhaps you can enlighten us on your absence in Cardolan; Gontran’s head is rotting on his stick in Tharbad, and we need new DS heads to entertain the people. What is keeping you??
Hail the light
Hallas, Chief of the Cardolan War Machine
Heads on a stick? Why didn’t I think of that with Morlammen I feel like a piker now. Tine, my capital commander seems to have misplaced the keys to the treasury room have you seen it? Warm clean towells that was a nice touch.
Brad
Well, yeah, I’m trying to be a tidy guest when I encounter such generous hospitality. We did our best to support you by taking down some walls. I recommend using granite instead of sandstone, it keeps better. In fact, they simply wore off with all the agents slipping over them. We left you keys in the lock because there wasn’t much more worth taking (we couldn’t carry more anyway!), you might have overlooked them. As for your check book, I haven’t seen it, but I’ll ask around…
Dear Cardolan, when it comes to Gontran, I don’t mind a bit. He got a nice amout of money from you during his short stay. As you can imagine, he’s already replaced with better characters. Please don’t feel neglected, I’ll come back to you soon!!! Please send my regards to Gontran’s rotting head.
Tine - the Cloud Lady
Oh come on Brad, it’s not too bad for us a turn! And we were very well off before, so we might enjoy a little closing up. As for the agents - you know, we were thinking that you’d like a little more attention from us - after all, maybe you turned free because you didn’t think cherished enough by us??? (Only joking!!!)
By the way, the news about your check book is that it was used up - you might need to get a new one…
Tine - a happy Cloud Lady looking forward to next turn
Tine, yes the treasury is about empty, and you will paste me pretty good over the next few turns but I will survive. I have had a lot of attention that is true, but other than funding some of your economies the damage for the amount of effort has not been too bad yet. I’m glad you posted I was wondering how the other side saw things. Glad you’re full of fight, but I will hear you thumping around on those crutches now and that will make things easier.
Get Well
Brad
Hi Cardo,
true to my promise I came back! Thanks for the rich pickings - it’s nice to have a choice! By the way- is it just possible you’re a little short on cash? Already? My, my! Let’s see how generous Arthedain is… As it happens (Brad might have told you) I’m currently playing both Cardo and Arth in other games. Nice to know where it hurts… Brad, I hope you enjoyed the little break. Thank you already for training my agents at your camps! We didn’t find that much gold this turn. What happened? No sales?
Cheers, Tine - the CL
Tine my dear,
My largesse has limits. Thank you for the break though. I was pleased and surprised no deaths either and you were in position to do so, for two perhaps three characters but took no shots. Thanks for that too. Watch out allies of mine the agents are now on the move including Din Ohtar out on the plains of Rhovannion.
Brad
Hi Ji Indûr,
I thought that I might reveal to you that you actually managed to disband 300HI! Congratulations! But I’m afraid I sold what I should, the challenge trick might work on some who has not seen it before but Cardolan sells with their army commanders. Too bad, but I believe that those that are short of cash are my neighbors… SE and NE! Man, TWO special services! Then it is nice with a victory like 300 Cardolan troops and 2 C40, which it might take up to two turns to replace. Poor me . Actually, the character you challenged was set to challenge as well, just wasn’t aware of your combat artifact. Now I am ;-). I will never, ever challenge you again. Promise!
What happened to your Witch King fellow Nazgûl?? Last turn I had the equivalent of 7.000 HI facing me; now I have none?? did he run home after Arthedain stepped on his toes there? I suppose he better, when the Cloud Lord is busy avenging offensive emails instead of fighting the enemy, he he…
Sorry, I just couldn’t resist after such a cool turn for us.
Full respect and good gaming
Hail the Light!
Hallas,
Chief of the Cardolan War Machine,
alone with noone to fight
I see the Cloud Lord boldly posts through the ether but not any of her allies. What gives Dark Servants? Have you nothing to report that indicates success for the servants of the Eye? Early in the game the DS were brimming with such confidence too bad that only the Cloud Lord has the confidence to post these days.
Dear Cardo,
well, well, no really sure who’s side was better off last turn… As you might excuse, but losing two characters just before new characters are due IS a setback and interuptive. And if you’d follow your group’s exchanges, you might have noticed that my dear Campanula picked up some VERY nice artifacts some turns ago. But I was thinking I’d give it a go and see how alert you are… Thanks to you she’s now a very nice agent indeed - even a minor kill gives experience, and that’s what your characters are good for! Your side might find there is a lot going on. Enjoy the game! I most certainly do!
Brad, don’t be too stingy next turn. I’d like to pick up a little gold from you!
Cheers, Tine
Tine,
I told you that it would be easier for me with you stumping around on crutches;-). I have implemented the remote economy and will make it unprofitable to try and steal from me. Really does Ji have no more worthy things to do? A Nazghul leader of the Dark Guilds reduced to a mere sneak thief. Your side must be badly in want of the golden treasures to utilize the agents like that.
Glad that you are enjoying yourself so much. I am too, we’ll tango before this all ends.
Brad
What happened to your Witch King fellow Nazgûl?? Last turn I had the equivalent of 7.000 HI facing me; now I have none?? did he run home after Arthedain stepped on his toes there? I suppose he better, when the Cloud Lord is busy avenging offensive emails instead of fighting the enemy, he he…
Be very careful Hallas of Cardolan. The forces of Murazor are closer than you might believe possible. Interesting isn’t it that both yourself and Arthedain haven’t launched a succesful attack against my realm until turn 8-9. Now you are going to have to deal with an infinite army of dragons and trolls marching down from the north. The era of the freep control over the northern lands is over.
I will see you soon at your capitals.
Lord Murazor
Bold Talk Murazor,
I am certain that your newest allies would have welcomed this combativeness a month or two ago before their nations were pounded in your defense. Now both Rhudaur and Dunland lay broken and destruction has come to their lands whilst you withdrew to Angmar.
Empty boasts about unlimited dragons and trolls. We know how many dragons there are and we know the locations of some that are clearly not in your service. Unlimited Trolls hah, bring forth what you can afford from the frozen wastes of Angmar come to your destruction.
Your bluster is tardy as are your forces oh great Nazghul of the North.
Ataman of the Easterlings
Ah yes, the thorn in the side of Mordor claims that I boast. Come now Ataman, the Great Eye informs me that your realm in the East is shrinking against the assault of my fellow Nazgul. Soon they will dominate the east and your own lands will fuel our assault on the southern nations.
Although the free lands now outnumber the followers of Sauron, you will still have to get past the Black Gates. Moreover, the Dragon Lord, our former-neutral allies, and myself still reside in the northern lands.
While I admit your preliminary attacks were successful to some extent, they missed the target by not sending everything they had against Angmar itself. By the way, did they ever find Osric’s body in the Trollshaws? The soon-to-be-dead princes of Arthedain also cannot be too pleased that they lost their king’s relics to us. The line of Numenor can never return to the thrown of Gondor now.
Keep sending your armies up to me, I have orcs to feed.
Murazor
Ah but your allies paid the price for Angmar’s security did they not.
The Easterlings are migrating, relocating and rebuilding. The attacks of your fellow Nazghul are the sledge hammer versus the fly. We all know sledge hammers kill flies if the fly stands still. That is not happening.
It is only a matter of time Murazor.
Ataman
Oh, I had SUCH a nice turn. Arth, thank you so much for your generosity. I never expected to get 12690 gold with one order. I might just be able to afford a box of chocolate for you! And Brad was just praising that you are all doing so well handling your economies! Aren’t you recruiting enough? And Brad, thank you for the 1400 gold of your two camps. Your lot is very generous, and thanks to Harad my killers are well entertained as well. I LOVE that game!
Tine, a thouroughly happy CL
Well Tine 1400 gold is hardly enough to pay their maintenance costs no wait a minute if they were at least 40 ranked agents it isn’t even enough to pay for their upkeep. I meant that I was trying to watch my economy, and it must be working if the stealthy Cloud Lord can only filch 1400 from me. Then again if that’s all that’s left that’s all your can take sweetheart.
As for the rest of the turn I think we gave way better than we got this turn. Bulrakur’s army crushed. Two armies at Khand Amu one chopped to ribbons and the other giving the polite tennis clap as Tonn Varthkur charged into the assault with his Dog Lord troopers while Leardinoth of the Blind Sorcerer elected to fight to the last Dog Lord soldier. Now what? Khand Amu is still mine. More maintenance to be paid this turn to the tune of 7400 gold for the Blind Sorcerer not to mention the 2300 food his boys consumed watching Tonn Varthkur fail to take Khand Amu. Now Tonn Varthkur has to fight again poor guy, no monies for the Dog Lord unless you send it to them. The Blind Sorcerer now will have to assault Khand Amu, he’ll take it of course but there’s not much there that will help him. Certainly not any food. I figure his troops are pretty hungry by now. Wait what’s that cloud of dust on the Northern horizon, well you’ll find out. Not a good turn for your allies in my neck of the woods.
In other places Vamag was lost to the forces of the Corsairs. Oh no a hit to loyalties everywhere for the QA. Better get her a new secondary capital I think she will need it soon. All those troops in the field another use for your new found wealth Tine. The Eoplex attack petering out. Bulrakur’s army destroyed this turn it will be the chance for Krusnak to throw away his army as well. Not many troops left in Rhovannion. The Duns collapsed, Rhudaur under pressure. Not many troops left in Angmar and the Nazghul pretty much bottled up in Mordor.
You have done a good job Tine, the noose will slowly tighten and while we may not get you we will get your playmates.
Regards
Brad
