Game 68 All Neutral

To my Friends, Allies and nobel Enemies it is with deep regret I find I have to drop this game. I am under a lot of pressure in the real world with work commitments and I have just started another grudge game with team Aussie, this game is eating into the limited time I have available for MEPBM. I was hoping to struggle on but failed to enter orders for the last turn due to this lack of time. So it is with a heavy heart I depart this game, it has been a hoot to watch and take part in the conniving and treachery. good luck to you all and may the most cunning man win.

Regards Herman (Ex Sinda)

By the ancient laws and treaties of Angmar, Murazor Oathbreaker, Lord of the Ice Trolls, Imperator in Repose of the Mannish North, High Commander of the Forces of Sauron (in absentia), Leader of the Eight who were Nine, hereby recalls all lands hitherto tithing to the seat at Cerin Amroth. By the treaty of Red Hall, when the last Jarl of the Mannish Nort conceded “all fiefs southe of y Olde and High Grey Mountains to the edge of Greenwoode until the desmense of elves should perishe.” I invoke this treaty and the right of the Northmen in pronouncing the lands of Mirkwood to be under Angmar’s protection. We shall drive out the Fallen Nazgul from his mountain under the trees and renew the stock of the Grim-kin with proud blood.

Murazor.

Yawn!!!

Well you see those 4 clumped MT’s touching Greenwood, on the east side of. They are all mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. And don’t ye all forget it.

Din - warning everyone in advance.

Herman, sad to see you go. As sad as others? Well, let’s see if the Western powers can get across in significant numbers to make a difference…it’s a long, tough march.

Worm-boy, show us some moxy and take on your “allies” now, give those of us paying for this miserable Mordor drudgery something to watch on the tele now, won’t you? We were expecting at least some funerals to attend, but Cloudy must be out attacking the Northmen or QA or someone, he doesn’t appear to be attacking his “enemies” at home much.

Ren the Uninspired

I must say it is sad to see an allie drop from this game, I wish Herman all the best in his grudge match.

Cloudy is not attacking me, he has some common sense  so you can rule another nation out of that equation.

A good turn for the LR, more positioning than anything else but what positioning  Now in position to roll the Eoth over :stuck_out_tongue:

Din

Well someone is up here in the northwest helping Noldo whack Cardolan’s finest. So either CL is helping Noldo, or Noldo is helping himself…

This game is very similar to 4th age in terms of Agent power… however, Ian, I think you chose the wrong option.

You could have owned half of Easterlings by T#3 and been jumping all over another nation by now… just like you suggested… instead you are 12 turns in and playing an Agent game… so what’s new for LoR? you could have done that in a normal game.

what have you achieved other than a large character kill total???

Hey, wait a minute… maybe Eas and Eot should have spoken earlier… why didn’t you tell your other ally my opening move plans to take out his northern pop centres? Makes you the senior partner in the alliance I suppose.

Help anyone!!! I’m supposed to be allied to so many other nations out there… can someone help me before I run out of commanders!!!

Michael
Eothraim

Lost one myself this turn…about time. And now the Easterlings have arrived themselves… Are they joining us or defending the Southern Alliance against us? Ack, more shampoo and less hope for fun for me.

Ren the Blahblahblish

Large character kill…You mean 2 is large  I’ve only just started killing, I have a few prisoners though

2 last turn, how many this turn?

By now you should be a superpower on your own, you should’nt need help.

Whats this I see 2 small Eoth armies about to be squashed and another trying to play follow the leader.

By the way agents are my least fraviote character type…just cause they are so powerful but then you have to play with the deck your dealt with.

Ian

Well Ren the Whining,

that is a nice little congregation we are having there in mordor, I bet the host is not amused…
give me just one good reason to join you and I might consider - to stop your lamenting would be a first step in the right direction

EasterBernd the recovered

  1. To Stop my Whining
  2. I make good banana bread
  3. The Dog Lord runs the best little whorehouse in Mordor
  4. We have to band together to stop the Witch King and Dunlending hoardes before DOOM is upon us all!!!

Ren the Reasoned

  1. that sounds tempting
  2. you sure that bread complies with the geneva conventions?
  3. well usually if my lads feel a certain necessity arise, they refer to the stables, thank you very much
  4. well I can’t see no hordes, and as long as big fat NG is sitting between me and them, feel no urgency to stop them. BTW if we band together, who will stop the easterling hordes?

Bernd for Tros and Ovy
ready to join the fun

News Bulletin, Grey Mountain Gazette.

When it’s springtime in Angmar, it’s 40 below. That doleful tune was heard up and down rowdy breadlines at Kala Dulakurth where a huge throng of Dwarven refugees have appeared under the demogogy of Thelor. The stern Governor of the province, Veteran (of the war of Rhudaurian Liberation, thank you!) Udrior, has been heard muttering “let them eat my dust” as he prepares to flee the provice. It is feared that bread riots may soon overwhelm the stout few police-trolls who currently hold on to order by the claws of their three-digited hands. When asked why they don’t return to their mountain homes, the Dwarves reply with bitter irony that they haven’t the food to make the trip - they will wait for spring in the frozen hills or in the ground beneath them!

When asked what he plans to do about the unrest in the occupied Dwarven territories, Witch King Murazor quipped “Its good to see that those stumpies don’t fight back until they are already beaten.”

Pundits speculate whether the ministers at Carn Dum can continue their unbroken string of wars.

Banana bread, hmmm? Perhaps I’ll send someone over to steal the recipe.

Put the mushrooms IN the bread…don’t take them BEFORE your mission, like you’ve been doing all game…

It’s not mushrooms, it must be this funny smelling pipe-weed that guy sold me. He swore it was Old Toby, but I’m beginning to wonder…

Well I must say a very satisfactory turn for me

Another Eothraim commander assassinated, 2 of his armies flattened, some fortifications torn down and a few other things besides. My agents can’t do no wrong!

This turn will see him lose his first MT, next turn his 2nd and there is not much he can do about it :stuck_out_tongue:

He also missed intercepting another of my cav. armies that is wandering the plains.

My emmies seem to be on a camping spree, another 2 camps down, how many is that 10, 15, 20 or much more

Din

You’ve used your Agent power well… I wondered what they were doing for the first 6 turns or so… but you’ve been slowly gaining the upper hand and let’s face it… Eothraim while great in a team game have a lot of issues to deal with playing solo.

However, I won’t spoil this by making excuses… you will get 1 of my MTs this turn, but I know where you plan to be next turn… probably with Agents too…drat!!! Anyone got a curse squad or some agents to lend me… I don’t have any cash and I can’t offer much in return, but hey, you get to hurt a really gross position…

LoR… hidden Capital with no natural Mage enemy to reveal
LoR… 2 good starting Agents with no natural Agent enemy to combat
Sheesh… this is a good 4th Age nation

Shame you didn’t want to ally at the beginning, with your agents and my armies we could have stormed through lots of nations… and we could have included Eas in the alliance as well.

Michael / Eothraim

Thanks Michael,

Yep the LR is a slow starting nation but now I can really start to play very agressively, hope you don’t mind

I bet you don’t know where I plan to be next turn, I may just surprise you  then again I may not.

All the best,
Din

Just a side note - in this MEPBM Surviror Series, note that while the Haradwaith and Northern Gondor have been on the VP list for a while, the total VP’s acquired in this game are Divided by the 10th highest on the PRS list for that Nation for a Percent ranking. Highest % “Wins” this game. From the VP information I have (mine and the top 3…) Cardolan is far ahead here. Now, isn’t it intrinsic to humans to want to tear down their betters? Aren’t the strongest, smartest and best always voted off the island first? Something to keep in mind as it would appear this mid-game is a period of unbridled national expansion with so many wars ending and all that extra room opening up…
