Alas, poor Witch King. Two military defeats this turn, an Arthedain army (off of three consecutive victories over WK forces) astride your Line of Communications, and a major town to change ownership next turn. We weep for ya laddie.
You’d make a fine politician, Argeleb… always offering a mere half of the story. Bondan’s army is quite finished this turn… and considering it started its campaign with 2500 troops and a different and now very dead commander, I’d say the WK armies attributed themselves very well.
And that is all Arthedain has done. The Duns are going to take my town… and next turn I will take it back. And the dwarves, well, their multiple armies have dedicated over 5000 HI against the WK.
Against such overwhelming odds I’d say the WK has done very well. Would it ever be a question of a solo match of the WK versus Arthedain, you and I know quite well how that would turn out.
But save your tears, dear Argeleb, the game is still afoot!
John Devlin: Since I am a patron of the Arts, I will make you a proposal. If you compose a limerick celebrating Arthedain victories, or about the forthcoming capture of 1806, I will send gold to your capital. The amount proportional to the quality of the product.
The glorious hosts of Arnor’s shade
Won several victories on frozen glades
'gainst Murazor’s hosts in the bitter north
In the hopes of putting all Angmar to the torch
Alas the Duns and stout dwarves have sallied forth
to aid and succor Arnor’s fading star
Arthedain’s fine, well trained men are no more
Felled by the hordes of unending, unyeilding dark
The balance doth sway toward the side of the free
in this, the third moon of war
Arthedain bids thanks to Dun and Dwarf
For this last chance for peace and victory
However, Sauron’s lord of Nazgul yet stirs
and plots and plans and prepares
to bring forth HIS darkness to lands of the north
and of this ultimate fate, Argeleb still despairs
How much gold do I get?
Sure glad I did not make the offer to you! Well composed.
There is no shame in being pummeled by you, Arthedain. You are a very worthy foe.
I, however, plan on making it a very difficult journey for both of us.
