At Minas Ithel we have a meeting of one army from South Gondor, one Cloud Lord army and two Fire King armies. All this and no one remembers to issue at attack order. The CL and FK armies quietly wander off to Osgiliath (minus one commander) while the South Gondorians ponder the now completely undefended town/fort.
Dunsul: that looks like a lot of orcs. I’m just going to sit over here in the shade and have a brew.
Celdrahil: Look buckeroo, I just lopped off Shagrats head and I’m just a subcommander anyway, so I’m not attacking the stupid orcs.
Meanwhile …
Grasty: Man oh man! Did you see what that guy did to Shagrat? I’m not messing with those guys. My orders say to attack Osgiliath, not Minas Ithel. If you Fire King bozos want to get rid of the nasty men, you’ll have to do it yourself.
Uklurg & Shogmog: yeah yeah Grasty, that’s right Grasty, we agree with you Grasty …
Grasty: shut up and quit pawing me!
Here I am all alone in Minas Ithel. What shall I do, what shall I do …

Well
In Minas Ithil maybe you can do many things, but are you taking into account that it’s possible that you do not exit that hexe??
Belechael and Argirion need more company, and It seems your country is plenty of love for Cloud Lord.
How does it feel that this turn maybe you end with 4 commanders kidnapped?
How Nice!!

Probably a lot better than the Draggin’ Lord feels right about now. Turns out the “dragon” at Goblin Gate was only a newt, and now he’s down to one MT. Oh, the plight of the homeless in Mirkwood… ; ) That, plus the recently departed Celedhring, must have him singing the blues, if he’s still in the game at all. We are sympathetic to his losses though, so we’ll try to reduce his maintenance still further by removing the cost for Khamul this turn. BTW, thanks to the Servs for not refusing challenge: it makes things a lot simpler for us.

Tell me something new, we do know beforehand that Dragon Lord allways loose Goblins Gate and Dol Guldur.
I’m still looking for fair elves, please reffer to Kal Nargil

I understand that you’ll be kidnapping and assassinating my commanders Ricard, that’s what the CL does. And if my entire character set ends up hostage, my kudos to you for your skillful play. Still, I think your comments are a bit silly. If you really were worried about my armies last turn, you would have given attack orders instead of moving your army to Osgiliath and moving agents in to Minas Ithel … how could you even be sure that I’d still be in Minas Ithel? If I had given a move order, I’d be in Barad Ungol by now. Do you have agents in Barad Ungol too, just in case I showed up there? I tend to doubt that I will lose any characters at Minas Ithel this turn. In any case, agent actions happen after combat, so whatever I choose to do to Minas Ithel will happen before any agents that might be in the vicinity have an opportunity to mess with me.
Dear Southern Gondor
Maybe my comments are silly, maybe I am a poor player … all it’s possible, but I would say that it’s better to have silly answers an that we keep exchanging messages abot the game and make it a little bit funny, than no comments and get a usual game.
That it’s my opinion.
At least Woodies like to joke with me and Dragon Lord, and I understand that that is the aim of the pannel.

In all seriousness, I would really appreciate it if you would release Argirion and Belechael. They stayed, they partied with the DS, now it’s time for them to go home and pick up their duties. Pretty soon they’ll develop a taste for orc women and once that happens, the boys will never be able to come back home. Please please? What if we offer a trade for Gorthog? He’s probably more your style anyway – it’s been a real pain keeping him out of the liquor cabinet.
I have never suggested that you or any of your teammates are poor players … what happened at Minas Ithel was weird, but understandable, given that we both assumed that the other guy would give an attack order, so why waste an order on it ourselves. And if your forces in Osgiliath are successful, I’ll look pretty stupid for not having inflicted some losses with my forces in Minas Ithel. More than anything, I started this thread because it struck me as an amusing occurance, rather than something I should rub in your face. Fair enough? We Freeps have had some good luck so far, but the DS have stuck to your guns and we recognize that we’ve many hard fights ahead of us.
Here’s a toast to Ji Indur and Errenis getting drunk and falling down some stairs. Cheers! Here’s a toast to soaking another round of blood into the mud and rocks of the Ithel Pass. Cheers!
Hi there
We have Asked Belechael and Argirion if they were willing to get on duty again in Dol AMroth, and they told us that they would rather preffer to stay with us. They say it’s wonderful to be travelling all along Middle Earth with such a guides. Good beer and better women. All paid by your nation every turn.
So right now, since we are all so happy with that situation let’s not change, in fact, they are willing some of their comrads to join the party!!!
Yours

I’ll explain later what happened in Ithil.

Osric and Beneoracer are fed up with the changeable Mirkwood spring weather, and the skiing’s not what it was. So they’d would like to book up a short break in the south courtesy of the Cloud Lord travel agency. Preferably somewhere in Southern Gondor - I hear the political situation in Harad is still unsettled. Might not be too safe there.
When will Errenis next come to Maethelburg? Let me know so we can be packed and ready to go. Better not forget that toothbrush.
Paul
Let’s not go off the deep end now. The last time Osric and Beneoracer visited South Gondor, there was a sudden rash of women having babies with beards. Really hairy, howled at the moon, that sort of thing. I don’t think that’s coming out of the Dunedain genes. How they managed to get around so much is unclear, although page 9 of the rulebook does say something about “deft agents with speed and cunning.” I guess that applies double if there is a bedroom window involved.
I recommend 3121 or 3224 as good spots for Osric and Beneoracer to vacation.
