My chums are always busting my chops due to the fact that there is always someone behind a key board that has something to prove. Gixxer we will let sleeping dogs snooze but be advised I’ve spent thelast 16 years power lifting and worked as a bouncer on weekends to make extra money. I was in the Airforce and have studied some martial arts. Maybe you are a the next best thing since T3. However this is my life style. I also haven’t heard of Berlin being nearly as tough as New York City. Let’s let it slide while we both are ahead. There is no problem with us both being alpha males with so much distance between us.
Why not call it a draw

*Ha ha ha. Hey if it matters, I’m pretty big too… I have a happy wife, two happy kids, a happy dog, a new collection of replica Lord of the Rings broadswords, I’m smart, have a dazzling personality, and look excellent in tight clothes (preferably my wife’s - preferably at the same time as well).
*Excuse the gifted here, Mum always said I was special, and I thought I should just share it with you

Let’s try to remember that this a game gentlemen. A game with a sad, pathetic ending but still a game. The NM are the only FP nation to take serious damage and SG lost a few pop centers, but the remaining FP are still pretty much untouched and you call it quits? The neutrals aren’t even with the DS, they are playing against both sides.
So let’s all pick our turns back up, fill out the orders, and we’ll settle this in game.
Bah, too late.
And Gixxer, you had intentions to attack the QA, then declared for the DS when you heard the game was ending so you could come in first?
That is absolutely the most lame way to place 1st that i have ever encountered in all the years i’ve been playing this game. Simply disgusting.
Whip,
you’re pretty right !!!
so who won?
Vandal
Well to be honest the neutrals did. The Harad was first the Easterlings second and Dunlend third. They all remained neutral until they heard the good were going to quit in mass and then simply declared evil. They were the perfect example of selfishness. But they payed their cash same as the rest of us and I guess since it’s allowed it’s cool.
But in all reality until the neutral fouled it up it was one of the funnest games I’ve played. The Freeps had us on the heels of our boots the whole game and each side did some cool stuff.
Douglas
Douglas,
you’re right.
It wasn’t our intention to foul this game !
We haven’t got many conversation the first turns.
So we decided to do it on our own.
We would have joined a team, but only after showing what we’re able to do.
We haven’t seen it and I think it’s okay !
For me the game wasn’t so funny, none of you told me in detail what you’ve done.
Up to now, I don’t know who was able to take which pop and I don’t have information about killed chars.
For future games you should improve this a little bit and the Neutrals will fall in your open army.
But not knowing what is going on there in the big, wide world,
what would you do ?
Have Fun !

That I can understand!!! I’m playing the Rhudaur in 9. No one but Vandal has very much to say. In my own defense I was kinda instructed not to reach out to the neutrals due to my abrasive manner. Even my teammates didn’t like me in the begining. One nation was suppose to handle the diplos. Then the Corsair player said he was speaking for all the neutrals as you guys had formed an alliance. That’s why you didn’t hear from me until later in the game. But even you have to admit once a dialog had opened between us I wrote you every turn and even shared some basic intel with the help of the Ice King.
Prost
I have to much to say, Gixxer you devil, winning the game such a naughty nuetral I would have never guessed it.
But my hat off to you all the same and be nice to AI his mad to so you have to like him.
In my pot stewed with dwarven seasoning I like the best, funny dont see to many dwarves near me.
Vandal
Douglas,
as already said before, you were more communicative.
Believe me it wasn’t so easy for me to plan an attack on the player to whom I had the best contacts.
Further on we both are bikers, so something like brothers in mind.
Okay you’re riding your Harley while I have my racing bikes.
That’s a bit different, I know.
But they have two wheels and a strong engine in it !-
Drano, something like a friend for me but ask him !
If all Neutrals would have joined the same side the game would have been over earlier.
The free lost a lot against the Easterling, they were stupid enough to attack him.
If i would have sent my forces to SG or NG they would have given up much earlier.
I wanted to have a balanced game, that’s the reason for my plan to attack you ( you were next to me and even Harad wasn’t able to build more ships to take this armies to somewhere else).
Don’t take it personal !!!
Prost !!

Since the game’s over, there’s no more need for secrets.
The freeps did an awesome job of rocking the DS world. Personally, I was most impressed with N Gondor’s play. We made an error or three early on and they pushed all the way into Mordor. Meanwhile, they blew through Mirkwood like it wasn’t even there. And if Rhudaur hadn’t gone DS early on, then WK would have been mowed over as well. Great job militarily.
We had back-to-back turns with failed assasination orders. 20 total failures in two turns. The freeps don’t even know the damage that might have caused. Bad dice, I guess. But then, turn 10 or so, things started happening with curses and assassinations. Even Personal Challenges started working. I was really looking forward to seeing how the character game worked vs ther military one.
I’m very sorry to hear the freep dropping this one - I don’t think they realized how “on the ropes” we were. 2 nations had 4 pop centers or less. Two had 6. One had 2. We were funding our nations with stolen freep gold. Rumors were that all the neuts were going DS, but they were in it for themselves. The only reason they hit the freep at all (I think) was because the freep hit them first.
All the neutrals were contacted early in the game. Not bombarded with emails from every DS, but each of 5 DS players contacted a neutral. So if they only got one email, it was representative of the team, not the individual. Some of the neuts responded then, and others had to be contacted more physically before we received a response. But they most certainly were contacted.
I have a policy with neutrals. They get general information, but NOT specifics. Everything Gixxxer asked for was battle reports. Battle reports tell what characters are where, including backups with arties or spells. They tell troop numbers and movements, and frankly, unless you’re an ally, you aren’t gonna get that much info. If the other team wants to be that generous, then good for them, I guess… but you won’t get it from me.
And lastly, and possibly most importantly, is honor. I can respect a foe that says he’s a foe. I can respect a foe who builds up and then unleashes, even if it’s against me. But what I cannot stand is a foe who just outright lies and misleads. They state what they want, we offer it - even at the cost of neutering some nations - and that neutral then suggests accepting the offer, but instead masses to strike. I understand game mechanics allow the neutrals to be thieves, liars, and generally treacherous people - but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. And that behaviour isn’t tolerated in games after that either… People build reputations based on their actions, and when (for example) Gixxxer plots to overthrow the QA, then declares DS on the last day before turns are due just to snag the win… well - that’s not winning gracefully or honorably in my eyes, and I’ll remember that for a long time to come.
To me, winning isn’t everything - it’s how one plays the game that sticks in my mind. Good gaming to you all.
Hi all,
here a bit of information why the FP dropped.
I played the Woodmen, my first game and I think I did all right for that, but we had problems right from the beginning invisible to neutrals and DS.
First problem Noldo. No they were not greedy or anythink. I think our Noldo player was quite good, but because of real life did not concenrate on the first few turns got Special Service and droped out of game, bad for us and the first two nation player.
Next Sinda droped, again we had to take over second two nation but everythink was in control. But then we lost the Eotharin and our initiative in Modor.
Great job of our North Gondor player by the way he more or less singlehandedly invaded Modor. But the damage was done no Eotharin recruting for 3 turns. Especially by now almost all of us had by mistake or computer problen at least on special service. That hurt.
Than Nordmenplayer dropped after two Special Services in a row.
So we got 4 double nation players, as I took over the Nordmen on turn 10.
So at the end we decided that with everyone playing two nations and undeclared neutrals (yes we are also responsible for that) to quit as the fun was out of the game. Even if it looked equally grim to the DS and yes Sinda and Woodmen would have kicked the Dragon Lord out of Mirkwood and the WK would have followed in a few turns. But such is live.
Cheers
Martin / Woodmen and one turn Nordmen
Just totted up the total damage caused by the neutrals. Harad never fought, neither did the Dunlendings. Corsairs took one major town off Southern Gondor, Easterlings challenged one Dwarven commander, took Scari by force and on the final turn captured Dale and threatened Londaroth off the Northmen. Nice to see this overwhelming strength had such an affect on the game. The ds report that they were on their knees, but the BS still had the gold to improve their capital and hire an army there after sending every single troop east at game start. This the most bizarre game I have ever been involved in.
AI and Dranob may find it of interest that Gixxxer (aka Gelle the Visigoth) had something like that happen in old game 11 to him. In that case, however, he got four days notice that he was being jumped by the neutral. He howled even louder that you fellows.
Gixxxer is right. Don’t take it personal. Remember, Sun Tzu says all warfare is based on deception. Also, Livy’s histories are full of Noble Roman commanders being defeated by Punics who took the effort to devise ruses and deceptions.
Greetings Arthedain 73,
it was a bit different in game 11.-
Astonishing how many players are posting when the game is over !
I’ve tried to start a dialogue many times, without a response !
Now your mouths are wide open, why not before ?
Think about it !
