the attack. This is common knowledge, however, what
happens to enemy characters that are held hostage by
the armies commander?

Is it a done deal, or do characters "with" the army always have a hope of surviving, however small that % may be?
Either way, it's not relevant to the question re: hostages, as I'm assuming the hostage keeper dies/died...
