Game Question

Actually, Steve is correct. MOST of the time all characters are killed, if
the army has 0 troops left after the assault -- and the army commander is for
sure. BUT there have been cases of characters travelling with the army
managing to survive. It is very rare, but it can happen. And as Wes implied, an
army that ends up with 1-99 troops will "survive" the assault, keeping its
characters alive etc., but then disband later when the army size is checked --
that is pretty rare but it has also happened on occasion. Some folks
consider their army to have "smashed itself" in that case, but there is a big
difference between dying on the walls and disbanding because the army had less
than 100 troops left (but did have a few old soldiers left to escort the
characters away)...

And yes, any hostages are treated as "escaped" and end up in that hex or any
one of the adjacent ones, as Brad indicated.

Ok, let's qualify it. "If" the army is "small enough"
that "ALL" characters are killed.

Not to hijack the thread but for information's sake, I attacked a
City/Fort with 79HC and 139HI (single commander in army) and ended up
at 77 health. Surprised me a great deal and only happened once but I
will always 810/870 now if not ducking challenge.
