I like, I like, I'd like to play
I would like to see more spells that do things you can't normally do:
Combat Spells
a) Upgrade Weapons:
Easy - upgrades 5 troops per point of mage rank of the caster to Bronze
weapons.
Average - upgrades 5 troops per point of mage rank of the caster to steel
weapons
Hard - upgrades 5 troops per point of mage rank of the caster to Mithril
weapons. Lasts for duration of the combat, only.
b) Fire from Isengard:
Easy - army is treated as having 1 war machine per 50 points of mage rank.
Average - army is treated as having 1 war machine per 25 points of mage
rank.
Hard - army is treated as having 1 war machine per 10 points of mage rank.
Movement Spell (cast only when in an army)
a) Terrain Mastery

Average - Army treats Hills/Rough, Swamp and Forest as clear.
Hard - Army treats Mountains as Hills/Rough, and Hills/Rough, Swamp and
Forest as clear.
Lore Spell

caster.
Average - pick a hex within 12. Reveals whether there are special encounters
in a one hex radius of that hex.

encounters within a one hex radius of that hex.
Healing

I suspect if you look at the already-cexisting combat spells, you
will find that they're more effective than these spells already.

This might be interesting and worth doing (but having one mage be
7-8 war machines may be too powerful; the Blind Sorceorr could then
crack open Minas Tirith without too much trouble... do we
really want that?)

Average - Army treats Hills/Rough, Swamp and Forest as clear.
Hard - Army treats Mountains as Hills/Rough, and Hills/Rough, Swamp and
I think this may be too powerful, and would change the dymanics
of the game too much. (Mordor in particular would be MUCH easier to
breach; since cav can cross four Hill hexes in a turn if fed, we could
see Sinda cav sacking Olbamarl on turn three or four. Let's not eaven
talk about elf-driven assaults from the north.)

So might this.

Thank you for your village (now camp). Its a bit "dusty" for our liking, but
we will spruce it up soon enough. Please send as many army commanders as you
like. They are fun (and easy) to challenge. This was especially appreciated
during the last battle as it coincided with Cantrip's birthday (I believe
his statement to the assembled troops was, as he noted your commander
striding his way, "Ooh! A Piata!").
We appreciate the new troops you've sent us to play with, too. Let us know
if you want your current army to be slaughter, routed, or merely destroyed.
As a good neighbor, my nation is always willing to accomodate...
If there is anything else we can do for you, such as relieve you of
financial decisions by robbing your treasury, giving you less administrative
decisions by taking your camps, or improving your economy by killing off
commanders and armies, let us know.
Yours most truly,
Darius of the Blackwood Elves.
