Well there are certainly some strong opinions out there! I
hesitate to say anything at all on the subject. However, I
would very much agree with din, GWC's are really a waste of
time except in Fourth Age - where they are invaluable.
Please let's not get too involved with the GWC thing though!
As far as I'm aware (and I've been playing since ME came out
in the UK) no-one has ever been awarded a physical piece of
paper in the UK. Given this and the fact that the GWC's are
meaningless for non Fourth age games, I would urge Clint not
to accept them except for 4th Age games. To do otherwise
might open the door to people to say "I 'won' seven games
under GAD and Allsorts, can I have seven guaranteed
positions please?" (don't worry Clint, I'm not going to!)
Alternatively, I believe it used to be possible to cash in
GWC's for free turns - not sure whether Clint still does
this.
I have to say that team victories are almost always much
more meaningful than individual ones - I know which pieces
of paper would adorn my walls! It's team victories that
stick in the memory, not individual ones ...
