Ed; you're forgetting the Indy 500 museum. Been there that's not too
bad a way to spend a couple of hours. My experience of GenCons past
however is that the gaming, buying, and gawking takes up most of the
time if not all that is not spent sleeping or eating. Indy is closer
for me less than 6 hours driving time so I may even go this year.
Milwaukee was a long haul and Wisconsin only has good interstate
around the perimeter of the state.

Indy Museum of Art is Excellent, Children's Museum is one of nation's best,
CircleCenter Mall for shopping, I'll be glad to reccomend dining for any
type of cuisine.
