Getting rid of chars

Have you noticed that most of the time, when you are doing well, that upon succesfully killing or capturing a nations last charscter one of the other little bu****s escapes from being a hostage. We kill him then and another escapes. Anyone else think there is a safety built in to stop a nation going under because no chars available to give orders, if there are some alive but held hostage?

Its still happening. I might make a little report of this just so I don’t forget. In seperate games as well. Im talking to myself again aren’t I?

Yes you are (know the feeling so don’t you worry)

Sorry but I have no experience of this so I can not help you

Execute all prisoners. Kill all others don’t capture anyone else of that nation, your problem will fix itself.

Yes have thought this but getting folks to get their Agents to do this is a pain. Seems they like the hard kills instead of easy throat slitting.

Throat slitting gives the hostage a free escape attempt I reckon. Every time I try it they slipped away.

When you have an agent character as hostage, yes, they’ll likely get away. Your scout character gives you their skill - kill them. If you end up kidnapping an army commander who happens to have agent skill, c’est la vie.

I can’t imagine the kind of game where a player would hang on running their nation turn by turn hoping a command character frees up in time to remain viable. Don’t you have other enemies to fight now that this one is totally castrated? Won’t this nation go inactive and eventually fold automatically? I don’t understand the kind of situation where this would cost a player actual money, ie, being the last nation that has to be killed…???

This is where I would expect most player don’t care to waste the agent order to execute a hostage - better things to do, no?

Nah grudge game. An we wanted to really stomp on this guy…
