GM message and games available

Hi guys

New from Bree #38
Check out the latest issue of News from Bree:
http://www.middleearthgames.com/news-from-bree/news-bree-38/

Teams
We have now removed inactive teams from the prs ratings. However, if you see that your team has gone and would like it to remain in the system, it is not too late - just get in touch and let us know (john@middleearthgames.com).

New JOverseer
We need some play testers for the new look JO - any takers? It's set-up for new players and we'll have a new guide and video tutorial but we need some feedback to get it working first.

Player Rating system
I'm glad to announce that we've finally done all the databse work for the Player Rating System and it's back. PRS is now up to date, including Kin-strife games.

http://www.middleearthgames.com/leaderboards/

Enjoy and feedback if there's any errors. Each month the ratings change btw.

The following new games are filling up:

1650 1 wk (Game 58) 20/25 positions available (upto 2 nation game)
1650 2 wk (Game 67) 6/25 nations available.
1650 GB 2 wk (Game 68) 4/12 positions available (2 nation game)

1000 2 wk (Game 45) 16/25 nations available. Upto 2 nation game, 10% discount on cost for 2 nations.

Kinstrife 2 wk (Game 656) 10/14 nations available

We are looking to put together an issue of News from Bree, does anyone have an article or game report they'd like to write? Contact us if your interested.

How about another weekend game? I'd fly anywhere to participate. I understand that one problem in the past has been only being able to get a limited number of turns in. How about a blitz weekend game? 1 hour for the first 3 turns, then 30 minutes each!! Wow!

Is the new software possibly capable of being used more quickly that might also help?

Jeremy

Yes I'd love to run one of these. Part of the issue is that when we did a FTF in the past the US players were up early and the UK late (team in the office and one in the US). A GB game would probably be best as that would save a lot of time in the diplomacy element. My advice, don't make this format too specific as it will kill it. (LAS, no male characters, 1 emi per 10 turns naming - well you get the idea).

So if there's interest we can do this.

Try the following.

tools/preferences/window display should be what he needs, but it doesn't seem to make a significant change to my eye

You can also CTRL and Mouse in/out to expand the view.

C

It seems that the JOverseer current hex view has changed and the way
it now dispays army information is in a font so tiny I'm unable to read it.

Is there any way to change the settings to make it readable?

Changing the window display doesn’t seem to have an impact

Does anyone have any other ideas? Am I the only one with this

There is another option but I can't remember - you can change the icon/menu size frm one of the drop down menu's in JO.

For Images
so CTRL and mouse wheel zooms in and zooms out on PCs, not sure about Macs which I find useful looking at the images sometimes.

You can change your screen resolution but I'd not suggest doing that without advice.

For Text
You can resize each box individually and JO will remember it in future, just drag the box and that will expand the boxes within it as well.

We're soon to bring out a new version.

Try that?

You can also CTRL and Mouse in/out to expand the
view.

Is there any way to change the settings to make

I have attached a screenshot of the hex view I see. You can
see how tiny the text is, and it’s driving my crazy! Still looking
for an idea for fixing – or perhaps I should install an older version of
JO that had the view from just a few months ago?

The current hex view seems fine to me. I know nothing about computers
so can’t really help.

There is another option but I can’t remember -
you can change the icon/menu size frm one of the drop down menu’s in
JO.

Changing the window display doesn’t seem to have

Does anyone have any other ideas? Am I the only one with this
