GMs playing in Games

If the players know that we are putting forward a product that we enjoy then
you know that the product is good. (It would be like a guy who writes
software for Microsoft, using Linux as an operating system, or a non-smoker
working for ... you get the idea).

You get the feel that we care about the game, find it enjoyable, and that
there is a human presence at the end of this keyboard rather than a mindless
computer.

Am I just wrong here with all my thoughts on this topic?

Clint, I apologize for the tardiness of my reply, I have been occupied with
other things. I was merely pointing out the ethical principles of perceived
conflict of interest. You are correct that there are other factors involved,
i.e., your enjoyment, knowledge of game from actual experience as a player,
etc.
You belong to that class of beings known as humans, so please remember two
things about human behaviour:
1. People believe what they WANT to believe.
2. When people WANT to do something, they will usually find, or if necessary
invent, a rationale for doing it, and an excuse for ignoring any
contraindications.

Yes I know.

Clint

1. People believe what they WANT to believe.

So whatever we do this will be the case. We can show by example that their
thoughts are not correct though. Takes time.

2. When people WANT to do something, they will usually find, or if

necessary

invent, a rationale for doing it, and an excuse for ignoring any

contraindications.
*** I know - if as a player you don't want a GM to play there is no argument
that I can put forward that will convince you otherwise.
