GM's playing the game

Man, does this give me the willies! Having dealt with RSI GM's
playing in Duelmasters and Hyborean War without telling anyone, and
the perception they used their inside knowledge to personal
advantage, I have an inherent problem with this concept. I am NOT
saying that Harlequin would do the same thing, but the perception of
a conflict would exist. Hopefully with the world combining together
into one player pool, this situation will not be necessary any
longer. Or if GMs do play, everyone is told UP FRONT, and let the
players make their gaming decisions with that info.

I have played 1 game in the UK where some Harlequin GMs played as a team on
one side of a three way 4th age game. We were all told up front and the only
instruction we had to do things differently was to put our orders for Rob's
attention who wasn't playing in the game. That way the GM's playing didn't
see any order sheets.

I have to say the game ran without any apparant problem and I was quite
happy that there was no impropriety. I would be happy to play this way again
as long as we are told upfront.

MEPBM is a great game - why shouldn't GM's be allowed to enjoy it as well,

Regards

Mike

Yes we always tell players. If anyone has any fears or would perfer we did
not play then we wont't in that particular game.
