A reference to the equations thread perhaps?
For the author, but not for the community at large to see. My point was to praise/rebuke the post and what was specifically said, rather than praise/rebuke the poster. Thank you for the psychology lesson, I guess the reason I’m posting on this silly thread at all is a subconscious need for reputation. <bg>
Christian,
Just because the world at large is juvenile and just because Rosseau decided to point out this behavior does not mean that we have to contribute to it.
I see us (the players of MEBPM) a smarter group of people then the average Earthling, first because we play a game that requires us to use our brains (unlike monopoly, life, lottery, slot machines and the other meaningless games out there); second because we enjoy challenges that are presented to us in the course of this game. Since, I believe this I also believe we can act above the common man and that we should not encourage juvenile behavior…but of course if you all prefer not to be viewed this way…hell that is the way I shall view you.
My point is that we should rise above all that. It’s only one small step up come on as a group we can do it.

Hi,
I completely agree with Vanya. The red and green boxes are unecessary, childish and downright annoying. If this can be blocked please do so. Until then, it’s going to put me off even reading this messageboard.
I fail to see any positive purpose this petty little thing could achieve.
Colin
This is so funny. We’re supposed to rise above such pettiness, but we get upset at something so trivial that most are either ignorant about or simply ignore, or merely consider silly. Why the big deal? Go ahead, modify me down to a red box, I have no vested interest here, except to wonder why people allow themselves to get angry for no reason.
Brad
But I like having a red box next to my name…

ROFL!!! Since the start of this thread, both Ed and I have gone from merely being ‘on a distinguised road’ to ‘will be famous soon enough’ and Brad from ‘a spectacularly aura’ to being a ‘jewel in the rough’ !!! I see people type LOL a lot, well I really did laugh out loud!! This is hilarious!
Drew
Well that doesn’t surprise me, considering what you have to say about Ann Arbor and the whole state of MI. You’re gonna have to add Stillwater and the whole state of OK after the Alamo Bowl, buddy. <g>

Funny, that. Whomever approved my post, you’re worth 25 points. I can see you know, going into that board meeting bragging, making the others feel small, you petty juvenile ubiquitous freak you!
Brad in the Rough
Um, no, a reference to the 4 posts above mine at that time… I don’t go for no equations, as demonstrated, I’m not even very good with fractions…

Hey! I’m from Oklahoma (I do wear shoes, however.) Born at Ft. Sill. My first memory was the excitement caused by the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
As opposed to cowboys boots, I’m sure you mean.
Ahhh Brad as ever you are right this is getting silly. But I am a full believer in the idea that the squeaky wheel gets the grease…so at this point I think I am trying to drag this thread out so perhaps the administrators will do something about it…
Perhaps though it is time to start a new thread…maybe I shall ask one of those ever-dumb questions, just to get everyone riled up…we devil’s advocates have to keep our business going.

You guys wish you could play real football like we do here in the Big Ten. Shouldn’t you be chasing after a some tumbleweeds or something? Oh, and when Stillwater gets a national championship you can talk, until then, you’re second fiddle in your own state.
- Buckeye
Big 10 vs Big XII in football? Gimme a break, you guys are a joke! There’s not a team one in the Big 10 that could stand up to a schedule that included Oklahoma, Texas, Tx Tech, Tx A&M. The BIG XII is even better in basketball these days since you guys ran Bobby Knight outta town; the only Big 10 basketball team worth a crap is Illinois, who is still cashing in on the coaching and recruiting of Bill Self, an Oklahoma State guy I might add. And for your information, Stillwater has more NCAA national championships and individual Olympic gold medalists than Columbus will ever have, maybe just not in the media-glorified sport of football.
P.S. One of the local watering holes in Stillwater is named The Tumbleweed, btw. <g> And when I was in school there, Eskimo Joe’s was a beer joint, not a T-shirt.
That last post will cost me some rep points, without a doubt. <g>
Laugh
Without a doubt…
Let’s see any Big 12 team try to run the gauntlet that is the Big Ten. Ohio State, Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State, Penn St., Wisconsin, etc… On any given day any team can beat any other team, and it happened plenty this year. I’d rather have a conference that is strong from top to bottom year in and year out as opposed to the lopsided Big 12 where you get two good teams that beat up on everyone else. Kinda sounds like the Big East before Va. Tech and Miami left…
At least we can both acknowledge that we’re better than the ACC and SEC.

I strive for harmony above all else.
There is a way to rate entire threads…although it doesn’t rate inidividual posts. There is a link towards the top right of each page, immediately above the first post per page, labelled “Rate Thread”. Using this, you can rate a thread with 1 to 5 stars, and people can use that as a criteria in their searches. Much like the reputation thing, it’s not something I’ve advertised…but unlike the reputation system, nobody seems to have discovered it. It can be quite useful, especially since there is no way of assigning a “negative” score to a thread, since they all start and “zero” and can only go up from there. At one time I was considering giving one star to any post that was not related to a specific game, so that it would be easier to search for informational threads and weed out game-specific threads, but I got lazy. A thread must receive a minimum of 5 “votes” before its rating will be displayed.
You mean they play football over there in the ACC? Hadn’t noticed. <g> And the SEC is even more overrated than the Pac10. Sheesh, I get tired of those ESPN talking head fools going on and on and on about the eastern schools.
