Vandal
Hi there John,
looks like Mr. Redmont is ready to rumble.
Play him !
Have Fun !
Gixxx
Well I wont interfere in your game if you want to get it on together I will leave it up to you two how you play it.
But I am ready to go now and play any sides.
Vandal
Gixx, don’t be polite and back out.
Whats wrong with being polite?
Vandal
Now I am confused. Frank I thought the whole reason game 15 collapsed was that you were withdrawing from all your games due to some pressing matter in your personal life. Now you are wanting to find new opposition? I don’t know seems kind of erratic to me. Game 15 time and effort spent to set up then wasted by a premature end.
Before I would want to agree to a grudge game with your team I think I would want some guarantees from the players on your team that they would play at least 10 turns regardless of your participation or lack of. I didn’t understand why your drop in game 15 would result in the end of a game. I understand that sometimes issues come up where a player has to leave a game. What I did not understand was why the other 11 could not continue without you; either finding a replacement or doubling up and someone taking over your nation. It was this collapse that would make me wary of signing on to play your team.
Regards
Brad Jenison
Read Clint recent notice, thats all I can say.
Vandal
Frank,
If you’re talking about Clint’s post today about posting on the forum that doesn’t apply here.
What I meant in my posting is that a grudge game was set up that only ran one turn and then folded for whatever reasons. All I could see was that you were withdrawing from at least that game, and that the game ended. It is not simply about you, the loss of our team captain would be a serious loss on our team to be sure, but the team would not collapse because of it. Had we been in Game 15 and we lost our captain we would simply have made adjustments and carried on. For whatever reasons your team was unable to do that. What I am saying is that Grudge Games are between teams; on our team at least a lot of thought and effort goes into planning even before the zero turn arrives. I would hate to spend all that time and effort only to find out after the first turn was run that our opposition was folding its tents because one of their players could not continue.
That is why I would want some kind of guarantee that if your team was to match up with my team that it would play at least 10 turns, unless you could defeat us in a shorter time. If that could not be secured then I would opt to find more reliable opposition. Nothing personnal, I just don’t want to gear up for a contest to find it cancelled.
Brad
In our games before this we lost several players without it effecting the team and the single loss of any player will not effect if the game finishes or carries on.
I am sure we can come to an agreement about if either side drops before turn 10 the other side pays the turn costs of the other side.
Vandal
Brad, there are lots of real teams to take on, have no fear.
Pray tell what team do you play for as before we go down this route it would be handy to know.
But of course may I refer you to Clint mail on this subject of mails outside game remits.
Vandal
Indeed that sounds very serious it would concern me to.
Vandal
Umm for the record Mr Jenison, Im on Vandal’s team, and while Frank planned to bowed out…I was attempting to work with Gixx, (as Im sure he will atest), to iron out the details to continue on.
Mike
Dont go into that game Nightsbane it will have consequences and its not worth the hassle.
Trust me on this.
Vandal
Guys, Frank has clearly said he won’t talk about this. Thus, you can throw tomatoes if you want, but that’s sort of like hitting a pacifist in the face. Everyone loses.
Game 15 is spilt milk. Lots of reasons involving both teams.
Spilt milk is spilt. Let’s move on.
To that end, in any game, I think it’s a great idea to really crisply define the playing conditions and end-of-game conditions. THus, pre-defining some things to add certainty about a new grudge seems a good idea.
And finally, I was on Frank’s Game 15 team. Due to my personal reasons, I won’t be on the next one. I think Frank is a great player and teammate.
For that matter, I’ve also enjoyed him as an opponent (where his team actually beat mine).
Dave
Nightsbane, I have had my private conversation with Frank. I don’t need the reason that he left game 15; it is not my business. As I said in my post my concern would be that any game I committed to would not end abruptly as game 15 did. I have not been a party to the communications that caused that game to end, however I find it hard to understand why Gixxer’s team would have said to hell with this; if your team had simply said Vandal is withdrawing we will continue however and replace him with a new player or one of our current team members will take over his nation. My understanding is that Gixxer’s team has players playing multiple positions so that should not have been an objection.
I didn’t use the word antics in either of my posts. I did not criticize Frank, for his reasons to withdraw as I really don’t know or need to know them. I am simply pointing out that I would not want to match up and begin planning a game strategy only to find out that there was any possibility of the game being over after turn 1, for whatever reasons.
Veo, I am pretty sure we will have opposition in short order.
Dave, no need to defend Frank, I am not criticizing him. Only expressing my reluctance to be involved in another truncated game that ends before it really gets started.
Regards to all.
Brad
Well now we haver got all this off the chest anyone want to play in a gentle game?
Perhaps Brad you should play Gixxers team I think they have first dips on this if they are ready.
Vandal
Hi Vandal,
you’re first choice !
The Circle won’t play for a while !
